Default "Don't push me!!!"

I was watching the ep "No children allowed" and after Lucy and Ethel have that fight, Ethel is in her apartment waiting for Lucy to call her. Fred then insists that she go to Lucy's apartment and apologize so she gets up and Fred puts his hand on her back. Then she turns around and yells "Don't push me!". For some reason that line, to me, seemed like Vance threw that in on her own because Fred wasn't even pushing her. Maybe the feud the two had off stage slipped out and she was talking to Will and not Fred as if to say "Get your hands off of me!" I don't know. What do you think?!

Well first he grabs her arm, then he puts his hand on her back. I think the fact that Ethel was so upset and Fred talked her in to apologizing, she was overly sensitive and just snapped at him. He did kind of take Lucy's side when he said he was sick of hearing the story too.

You're right about the "don't push me" line, though. It doesn't seem like something the writers would write for Ethel. Maybe she ad-libbed it during rehearsal and they decided to keep it in the script.

Either way, she did a great job making it look so real.

Ya never know!

But I just think Fred's face is priceless like he was stunned she said that. He was probably like "Damn where'd that come from?!"

It was definitely one of their most realistic scenes. Fred's face the entire time seemed true and not as campy as a lot of his responses were.

I can understand why she said that. I wouldn't want Fred to put his hand on me either because I don't like him. Just today this guy came up behind me and grabbed me and shook me and I turned around and told him to keep his paws off of me. Maybe he wasn't suppose to touch her, just like this guy wasn't suppose to grab me and shake me like he did.
