Otherwise Fred wouldn't be able to get off the cracks about Woody and Esther being too old and too ugly to have a baby and other assorted insults....

But it was funny when Esther said that they weren't having their baby the way Fred had Lamont. So Fred asked if they were having this baby on purpose.

you might think that that line "Woodrow and I are gonna have a BABY!" was put in merely for the trailer value....
What I mean is that they probably used that line in the previews shown on NBC to get people to watch the show!
I thought it was weird that they used the same actor to play Daniel, that had already appeared in the one Christmas ep......

I can see that being on a NBC promo-"WOODROW AND I ARE HAVING A BABY" and then Fred's reaction followed by the voiceover-"FRIDAY AT 8PM on NBC

yeah, that is exactly what I meant....I can imagine that being a shocking promo. After she says the line they cut to commercial. That's a pretty cheap way to trick people into watching, only to find out the so called"baby" was a teenage boy with a big afro...
Esther- "because we have a home and a business, and no one to give to when we pass on..."
Fred-"Well, give it to me and pass on!"
