TV Wasteland is a classic crap channel but at least I had the foresight to tape MTV when they actually played videos. Now if I can just get everything transfered to DVD.

Television has been on the downhill since the early 1980s. I think cable television has been one of the worst things period. It is overpriced, the same programs are played a thousand times, there are hundreds of channels offered but only a handful seem to have any redeeming programs. It is ridiculous.

MTV was once a great channel, too, but now it seems to be a pawn for BET (Black Entertainment Television). Rap music is not the only music out there (thank God!) That is, if you consider smut & gibberish music.

TV Land owes its viewers an explanation if they plan on changing the format. The "subtle" changes they have been slipping in on us over the last few years is getting old. They aren't fooling anyone. It goes to show no one in TV today knows what Classic TV really is.

The are doing to TV Land what they did to MTV, making it a channel targeted at an age group (MTV-teenagers, TV Land-Baby Boomers). I expect to see The Real World: Leisure World next.

No surprise, I also forgot CMT, it doesn't even play much country music any more, just shows aimed at a rural audience like Dukes of Hazard reruns.

I predict this 'baby boomer' thing to fail. 'Research' isn't everything, they need to listen to the actual viewers themselves like they claim to. Seems like it's becoming a hodgepodge of a bunch of shows that are related in NO way. That's a turn-off to me. Now they're showing movies that don't even fit with most of the shows. Now where's this Elvis Presley thing coming from??? Um?

I say do a 'classic' network (TV Land 2) and 'baby boomer' network (TV Land 1) so everyone can be pleased.

I agree. Seems since 2000 that everything is starting to MASSIVELY suck. Nick @ Nite used to have marathons of I Love Lucy, Diff'rent Strokes, ALF, Bewitched, Gilligan's Island... Now its all newer shows which wouldn't be so bad if they just managed it properly... that does not seem likely of happening any time soon. Please Will Smith don't get shot or anything because they couldn't air anymore Fresh Prince episodes as a tribute... has he been shot and we dont even know?... anyways those shows I mentioned should be on TV Land and Nick@ Nite just has to fix up the sched. Also, channels seem to putting more commercials now.. too much to say, ill just stop

Amen and Alice have been dropped. Alice didn't even have a total run so I don't hold out much hope in ION.

You're corrrect on all points. There's currently talk of a la carte cable TV, which the cable providers are obviously opposedd to....saying junk like it restricts feedom of choice, etc.

I know. In the late 90s, CMT used to play country music non-stop. My Mom was obsessed with this channel since she was a huge fan of country music, now she doesn't even watch it anymore.

Ahhhh, the memories of what MTV used to be. I was 17 when it debuted. History was being made and I got to see it as IT WAS.
