Yanks beat the Pirates 9-3 and finished with 7 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. Are the Yanks slowly turning the corner???-lol

5 straight wins now. They have cut that Red Sox lead from 14.5 to 10 (could be 9.5 by the end of tonight). Baby steps...first get the lead in the wild card...only down 5.5 games in that. Then they can make a push for the division.
Oh yes...Clemens was solid. 7 K's in a game at almost 44...amazing. |

The Yankees won't even make the playoffs. Clemens looked horrible in his warm-ups in the minors, and he was lucky to finally get some run support tonight. Doubtful he'll even finish the season, especially not without further injuries.

I never liked Roger Clemens when he came to the Bronx the first time.
He was a dirty player when he pitched against the Yankees. Then he joined the team, and he was a savior. Then the "retired" and went to play for another team. Now all of a sudden he wants to come back to New York. When he wants to. No, I won't bother with Spring Training like the other players; I'll come back when I am ready. That's a load of crap. The George Steinbrenner of old would never have let some pitcher set his own terms as to when he wanted to join the team. Yet today, the fans greeted him like some returning hero. You suck Roger. You are a mercenary. The only thing you care about is your bank account. Stop applauding him Yankees fans. He doesn't care about you. Here endeth my rant.
