I always found it hard to believe that Lucy looks at ther marriage certificate and notices the wrong last name for Ricky (Bacardi instead of Ricardo) after what, 10 years???? What woman DOESN'T look at her wedding certificate after receiving it? I can't believe that. I can see the error of an incorrect name put on the certificate or a spelling error, but for the bride to not look at her certificate just blows my mind and is unreal.

I know, that was hard to believe. How could she not notice!

If it was a typo like Riccardo or Ricardi it might be a tad more believeable, although not really.

I would think that a young bride would look at her marriage license many times right at the beginning.

It is interesting, though, that they used the name Bacardi. Desi's grandfather was an original partner in the Bacardi Rum business.

Is that right? I never knew that abt his grandfather. Actually, I may have read that, but forgot abt that tidbit.

Just like you said, a young bride would look at her marriage certificate many times over. I know for a fact I did that. I even did that when I received my kids' birth certificates.

I agree that Lucy would have noticed the mistake immediately. I remember reading the Lucille Ball kissed her own marriage license so many times that it had lipstick prints on it years later. I still love this episode because of the references to Lucy and Desi's real wedding at the Byram River Beagle Club. They also had "I Love You Truly" playing.
