To know his mother was dressed in a drag and called her out was funny. Alice really could have went for a man the way she was dressed. I have seen many sitcoms where a relative couldn't tell another relative when they were dressed in a drag, that's what made Tommy stood out from the rest.

He and Fred Mertz (I Love Lucy) had something in common. Fred always could tell when Ethel was in disguise.

What I like abt Tommy is that he wasn't a smart-ass or a wise-crack. Those are such turn offs when it comes to children actors, just like Gary Coleman playing Arnold.

But why did she go back to looking like a MAN when Tommy already figured out it was her?-lol When she started playing poker again she put the Manly Disguise back on and I was likw WHY????

I know, I hate smart-ass kids too. Tommy wasn't one, he was just your typical kid who was so down-to-earth. I wish more sitcom kids were like him.

Not only that, wasn't Mel's game a man only set up? I thought it was mentioned he only wanted men at these functions.

Yep, he sure did. The men want to be able to say things without worrying abt a "lady in the house".

That's why she put back on the disguise. As long as Alice APPEARED to be a man, it was alright for her to play.
