Make-up
Did anyone ever notice the eye make-up Rob wore in the first few episodes of the show?
This always distracts me when I watch those episodes from the first season. |

Yes, I noticed it also. I didn't think to highly of it. I believe the make up was used to cover up a fever blister on his lip. That is what I heard at one time.

They also used alot of make-up around his eyes. It made me think of those old silent movie stars.

I agree. I liked his natural look a lot better in later episodes.

LOL - yeah, same thought always hits me when I see the early eps. I think they felt they had to do it because in real life, I think Dick was a strawberry blonde then so his eyes might have looked a little washed out on black and white t.v.. They put some eyeliner on to make them stand out. After a few eps though they probably realized it was too noticable and looked weird so went back to au natural (thankfully!).

^ I'm glad they stopped over-using the make-up too. You couldn't help but notice it and it really looked strange on him.

I dont remember eye make up, but I do remember how pale he looked in the first season. Toward the end he looked very tan.
