Question When was the last time Chico & the Man was on TVLAND?

I bought the dvd with 6 episodes of the show, but TVLAND needs to do a marathon of Chico. Does TVLAND still have the rights to Chico & the Man?
The sitcoms of the 70's & 80's are so much better than what we have now!

Sadly, it's not been on TV land for about 5 or 6 years now... We've been hopeful that they would put it on TV land again; we've even e-mailed and signed petitions asking for it but to no avail yet.

I agree; the sitcoms from the 70's and 80's were awesome! Shows like CATM and All in the Family (and the disagreements and ultimately, understanding, that arise when different races, cultures or political views come together) will probably never be made again. This world is too "PC" nowdays! But enough of my rant...

I don't know if TV land still has the rights to CATM anymore. Would be nice to have another Marathon!

I believe it was last on in 2001. Around the time that I came here on Sitcoms Online.

I have no idea who owns the rights now.

Oh wow has it been that long. Hard believe I have been a fan that long. I liked the show & watched it in the 70's but wasn't in love with Freddie. The TVLAnd re-runs got me to fall for him. Time sure flies...

Yup it was on TV land right before I had internet access in 2001. Before I knew much about i thought it was a Hispanice version of Sanford and Son at the time

Well when TVLAND aired the weekend marathon of Chico & The Man I taped all of the episodes even though they are not in order.

Default CATM Marathon

I am so ready for a weekend of Freddie Prinze again. I can remember when it aired a few years back, I was glued to the TV set. Love that man.

I agree that the sitcoms of today are nothing compared to those in the 70's and 80's. All I can see is that they are full of inuendo and potty humor (George Lopez was one refreshing exception and they took him off. I did enjoy Freddie Jr.'s too, but even that stooped at times to that banal humor.) I guess that is why I watch more crime drama these days, I rarely catch any of the newer sitcoms.

Oh and speaking of taping the show when it was on TVLand in 2001, my hubby just bought one of those machines where you can convert your VHS to DVD. I need to get him to transfer my tapes to DVD format so they will last longer... I don't watch them right now cause I am afraid I will wear them out...
I know they are the cut versions from TVLand, but that is all I have right now, so they are precious to me.... OMG I can't remember how many sets of these I made for people back in the day... I hope they are still ok?!?!?

I currently watch Chico and the Man on the ALN network. It airs only on weekends, but that is better than nothing. They also air Welcome Back Kotter.

i am so anxious for them to release catm on dvd all the seasons sets i've complained about this before and i am again, i don't think it's fair that companies are releasing season sets of shows that you can still see on prime time tv
we need the classics!!!!
