Default Anyone seen this ALICE website...

http://www.bigbob.com/alice/

It states that the car shown in the beginning of Alice is from the movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore", is that true?

Actually, that's my work, but the guy who ran that bigbob site ripped it off and took my name out of it. although I see he does now have my name listed on the first page. My original page (whcih I've done a few mods on, but not much, since Alice wasn't on for so long) is at:
http://yakko.cs.wmich.edu/~ochs/guides/alice.html
All the little notes in the guide are stuff I noticed while watching the episodes on E! and TNN (and where alot of the info I've posted here came from )

Yes, it's the same car as in the movie. As a matter of fact, that whole opening scene with the car is from the movie. I got this info from IMDB.

That info (at imdb) probably originated from my guide. I noticed it when I rented the original movie. The actual footage isn't from the movie though, the van behind the station wagon is already passing the car on the movie, whereas on the 4th season beginning, it's behind the station wagon and starts passing, when the footage cuts off. You would have seen this on the Reporter yesterday. It's different footage than used on the 1st 3 seasons (which was probably taken from the same area...I imagine it was movie footage that was unused, probably due to the truck passing the opposite direction and making the whole camera shake as it passes)

Thank you for that information. I tell ya, we learn something new everyday.

I agree with Solomon, I really don't like to use IMDB for info other than tv show appearances, movie appearances, etc.

Just watched the movie again the other night (I own it on VHS) and yes, the scene with the passing van and such is from the movie

Since this was a PG rated movie(would qualify for PG-13 these days), boy I forgot how salty the language was! Tommy was beyond a smart mouth kid here--in fact he was more obnoxious! Ellen Burstyn's Alice was no saint and certainly didn't come across as Miss Know it all as Linda Lavin's Alice. Diane Ladd's Flo was just as much the spitfire as Polly Holliday's Flo--only allowed to say the dirtier words! Imagine any of the waitresses getting away with telling Mel to get a "jack job" in a paper bag And Valerie Curtin's Vera--well, that was goofy and why did Mel ever hire her?

other notes--in the movie, Flo mentions she has a daughter and an old man.
Alice's maiden name is Graham. Vera's father is named Duke.
