Early details on upcoming Volume 5 set--- and my name isn't Adam We! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

September 18th will see the release of the fifth installment in the FAMILY GUY DVD franchise giant. It'll be a three-disc set with the first thirteen episodes of season five (there are only five other episodes to the season so I can't for the life of me understand why those are MIA for this set). In the final episodes of the season's place, the third disc will contain the three-part story arc that was previously released on DVD in the form of STEWIE GRIFFIN: THE UNTOLD STORY. This unnerves me a little because I paid 25 bucks for the original disc since it was advertised as direct-to-DVD and I figured it wouldn't be offered in any other set so I caved in and bought it. Now, it is being housed with 13 other episodes of the series and a multitude of extras for 39.98 SRP, only ten bucks more than the UNTOLD disc which only contained 87 minutes worth of FAMILY GUY fun and a couple special features. If you break it down, each disc of Volume 5 costs roughly 13 dollars, so you do the math. I'm sure I'm not the only one a little ticked about this, but so far as discs 1 and 2 are all-new-to-DVD material, it looks to be a nice set. Hopefully the UNTOLD episodes will have some kind of new material added to them, such as a new commentary track then that'll ease my tensions a little.

The first two discs' episodes will all contain commentary tracks, which isn't a surprise, because every episode from volume four had a commentary track attached to them. A couple other features will be included and animatics with optional commentary. Nice set overall (sorry for the above rant if it annoyed anyone, I just had to let it all out!), and I can't wait for September 18th (although at the same time I want the summer to be as long as possible before I have to go back to school,
