Friday the 13th star Laurie Bartram has died

Laurie Bartram who played Brenda in the first Friday the 13th movie has recently passed away from cancer.

She played Brenda, one of the councelors who played strip Monopoly and had to leave the game early because she left the windows open.

To me, Brenda is the most memorable character from Friday the 13th. Alice was a good leading protagonist, but she wasn't as interesting as Brenda. In the film her death is caused by her own good will. Brenda went out in the rain to help that crying "child" she kept hearing and was confronted with the wrath of Mrs. Voorhees instead. Out of all the deaths in the series, this one probably bothers me most.

Laurie said, "...I felt Brenda was a very compassionate character." I think it only worked because Laurie herself was such a compassionate person. Her biography is a testament to that. Rest in peace.

I know this is an old thread, but i'm glad i checked it out, because i never knew she passed away. Thats really sad, she was just to young to lose her life.
