Favorite Selena songs?
I was watching the Selena movie tonight (the only J-Lo movie I like) and it got me to thinking what everyone's favorite Selena songs are. Mine:
"Dreaming of You" "Como La Flor" "Techno Cumbia" "I'm Getting Used To You" "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" "La Carcacha" Again, I still feel sad that she's no longer with us. I was a freshman in high school when she was killed and remember that day very clearly. She had so much more music and love to give, and was a beautiful person inside and out. I do feel happy that her husband Chris was able to find love again, remarry and have kids. I do wonder what things would be like today had Selena lived. We can only imagine... Selena.

I hate to admit this but I had never heard of Selena until she was murdered. I wasn't a fan of (is it called?) tejano music so I was really familiar with the performers. What I like is only what I've heard on the radio "I Could Fall in Love" and "Dreaming of You".

![]() Sadly Selena was not know by many who were not Tejano music fans. She was killed before her crossover album was even finished. She would have been a huge star. The person we know as J-lo would not even be famous now in my opinion. Anyway back to the topic. I love all of Selena's songs. I even have some of her recordings that she did as a young girl. But my absolute most favorite are: No me Queda Mas Como La Flor Techno Cumbia Amor Prohibido Tú SoloTú Fotos y Recuerdos so many more. |

Si Una Vez is my favorite. I dont know what it is about that song but to me, its just very different from the rest. It has a dark quality to it that none of her other songs have. And watching her perform it is really something.
I like most of her other songs too, especially the more obscure ones that she recorded early on. But Si Una Vez just tops them all for me... |

I have a couple favorite selena songs. She just had such a great voice with great words to go with it in her songs. But my favorite is dreaming of you. R.I.P. Selena.

I love Selena! So much that should have happened for her and she didn't get to see it all. Such a tragedy! I love so many of her songs, but I think I have to say one of my all time favorites is the remix her borther, AB, did of "I Could Fall In Love". Very nice tribute to his baby sister.
Oh, just in case anyone doesn't know, Selena has an official MYSpace page now. It has a few of the songs from the latest CD Through The Years, including Selena at age 7, singing "Feelings" Just look for SELENAOFFICIAL! |

That remix is very beautiful. The part that gets me is the very last second when you hear her breathe and its echoed a few times. I've been a Selena fan for a very long time and I have come to terms with her death, but when I heard that song and that particular part at the end, it just made it so much more real for me. Like, "This was a person who actually lived and breathed and here's the proof." I know it sounds corny but it just...kind of gets me all choked up. |
