Thumbs up 70's Babies

A few years ago I started a thread concerning my disbelief that of all the people who post here at Sitcoms Online, very few of them seemed to have be born during the 1970's. I guess that isn't too surprising since I believe that less babies were born in the 70's then all the other decades during the 20th century. I've noticed over the last year or so though that more 70's babies have joined SO. So everyone who was born between 1970 and 1979, let you voices be heard by posting in this thread. Maybe offer a few facts about your birth year.

I was born in 1976. 1976 marked the 200th anniversary of the United States of America. The big movie of the year was the original Rocky. There was also Taxi Driver, All The President's Men and Carrie. Some classic songs from 1976 include "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago and "You Should Be Dancing" by The Bee Gees.

I am proud to represent 1979!!

The Iranian Hostage Crisis began on my baptism day, November 4, 1979. My parents heard it on the radio on the way from the church to the Denny's where they held a little party in honor of my special day. The #1 song in the US was "My Sharona" by The Knack and the #1 song in the UK was "We Don't Talk Anymore" by Cliff Richard.

The Sugar Hill Gang releases the first commercial rap hit, "Rapper's Delight," bringing rap off the New York streets and into the popular music scene.

The death of John Wayne

TV's looked like this.

Oh, Blair's #1 Fan, the Bee Gees scored 3 #1s in 1979: "Too Much Heaven", "Tragedy" and "Love You Inside Out". That means the #1 song the day MonarC was born was "Tragedy"! (It hit #1 the week of March 24, 1979.)

My birfday!!! They were so upset about my birth, they took hostages.

I bet I'm also one of the last 70's babies here. There was someone here born in December 79, but he left.
