As I'm sure some of you know, "Final Appeal" is my favorite segment on the show. I'm trying to put together a list of all the cases that were profiled. Please feel free to add any that I may be forgetting. Here is what I have come up with...
1. Glen Consagra - murder. 2. Michael Scott Martin - armed robbery. 3. Dr. John Branion - murder. 4. Larry Race - murder. 5. Johnny Lee Wilson - murder and arson. 6. Micheal Lloyd Self - murder. 7. Rick McCue - murder. 8. Patricia Stallings - infanticide. 9. Stuart Heaton - murder. 10. Bird Road Rapist (forgot his actual name) - rape. 11. Rolando Cruz - murder. 12. Darlie Routier - murder. Not featured on UM, but featured on the "Final Appeal" spinoff 1. Dr. Jeffrey McDonald - murder. 2. Anthony Miller (UM or Final Appeal?) - armed robbery, attempted murder of a police officer. 3. John Purvis - murder. 4. The group of black seamen accused of mutiny during WWII. 5. Paul Farrell - murder (?) |

Hey Justin,
Great topic - I was actually thinking of starting it myself awhile back but kept forgetting. Tommy Ziegler would be a notable addition - He's on death row in Florida for the murder of his wife and in-laws back in the mid 70s. You know if we can put together a pretty comprehensive list, maybe Crystaldawn could put together a special set that collects all the "Final Appeals" segments together. I was surprised that a "Final Appeals" set was not released along with the other First Look sets. |

You mean the one where he admits he's just a moron from Missouri? (Apologies to anyone from the "Show Me State" - I mean no malice)

I can't believe I left off Tommy Zielgler. There was also the Frederick and Cedrick Young case. Was Bob Hall's plight a "final appeal" or "unexplained death"? I can't remember. |

I think the Kay Hall case was an unexplained death. When they filmed the case he hadn't even been convicted yet and kept maintaining his innocence and then at the end RS said he pled guilty to something and received a ton of years probation. Was the Jacqueline Dowaliby case a final appeal? |

You could also say the same thing about the judge in the original segment - the one who denied the admission of the MMA evidence. What a dunce. I'm very happy that she was completely exonerated in the end. She suffered needlessly at the mercy of the 'system'. |

This case is, I think, eerily similar to the Ramseys. Just an observation. |

CD: off topic: I unintentionally damaged my copy of the update of the Lancaster, California extortion scheme. Someday can you hook me up with that? |

Yep Final Appeals are the best! Anyways, wasn't the Circleville Letter guy listed as a Final Appeal? I can't remember his name at this point..
