Default So did the Zack Character jump the shark after he was DUMPED by kelly?

I never looked at that character the same after getting dumped. I thought he was supposed to be the COOL kid, kind of like Vinny on Welcome Back Kotter, not someone getting dumped-lol Then after getting dumped Screech rips off his shirt in the hallway in front of everyone when he thought Zack was trying to still his girl. The basically the Zack character started looking like a CLOWN and the cool title went to SLATER

Kelly was THE hot chick, and no matter how cool he was, she was over his league.

I agree about "The Fight" though--that was just lame. Then again, wasn't it a "Tori" episode?

Well, it's not his fault that he got dumped. His reaction to being dumped was a little over the top, though.

But since his character was supposed to be so cool it just looked stranged to see him in that situation.

Slater was always the cool kid. Zack was the prep, but I agree that his character changed when he was dumped. Then the show began to get a bit too emotional for me towards the end of the series, with all those prom and break-up episodes. The early episodes were the best though, when Zack and Slater were fighting over Kelly.

Even cool people can get dumped, though.

To be totally frank, I find the idea that being dumped somehow makes you less-cool to be very offensive to me. I mean, bad things happen to cool people, too - and when people get dumped, they feel bad enough already. They don't need to hear that they are less-cool, because of the actions of another person.

If there is anything about the event that made Zack less-cool, it was his REACTION to being dumped - not the act of being dumped itself. I'm sure people who have been dumped are already questioning that they may somehow be less-cool, so the last thing they need is to have someone confirm the notion for them. I mean, Zack can't control how Kelly behaves, can he?

Heck, that's maybe even WHY Zack reacted so strongly - because of his fear that people may think of him as being less-cool. Not that that excuses his actions, but I hope you get what I mean.

I just checked, and that episode is not a Tori one. Kelly and Jessie are there. It's one of the weirdest episodes, though. Zack and Lisa kiss and act as if they are going to start dating, yet we never hear about it again. Screech decides to quit following after Lisa and sets his sights on Jessie. That, too, seems to get dropped after this episode.

As for Zack, I liked him better in the early seasons, because he was a little more insecure. You rooted for him. However, as the show went on, he was just so cocky, lol.

I disagree, he was dumped and cried and disrespected by SCREECH in the hallway when he had his shirt ripped open. So he was not cool to me, try A.C. Slater instead

Again, it is NOT Zack's fault that Screech disrespected him in the hallway and ripped his shirt open. I stand by the belief that it's very cruel and insensitive to say that a person is no longer cool because of what OTHER PEOPLE do to them. If Zack ever stopped being cool, it would only be because of ZACK'S OWN BEHAVIOUR!! Zack can't control how other people treat him, so I think it's very unfair to judge his "coolness" on those grounds.
