Default What is wrong with D.J.'s room in this episode?

In the episode "Looking for loans in all the wrong places" where the ladies are trying to get a loan for the loose meat sandwich shop, there is a secondary story going on abt D.J. using his telescope to look at Molly next door undressing.

Darlene finds out when she goes upstairs to tell D.J. to come downstairs. Darlene enters D.J.'s room FROM THE LEFT. The few times we see D.J.'s room, everyone is seen coming from the RIGHT. The floor plan is that the girls' room is on the right hand side of the hallway. We always see the door on the left. A window on the wall and the bathroom to the right of the room.
Later on in other episodes, we see Dan and Roseanne come into D.J.'s room from the RIGHT. The way it should have been.

D.J.'s room couldn't be on the right side of the hallway or else he would not have a window in the exact same spot as the girls. The only way this would work is if his room was underneath the girls' room (the first floor). His room in this episode is laid out exactly like the girls' room.

Exactly. Jackie uses his bathroom to change and that is what I thought of when I seen this mistake.

yea, DJ is in the girls room, which means the door to the hallway, should be on the left.

thats bugged me about the show ever since i started watching. the layout of the upstairs makes no sense. The kids share the upstairs bathroom, so Darlene could be coming through the right side. I drew a layout of how i think the upstairs is set up.

That's how I picture the layout is too. When people enter from the left door, I think they are just entering through the bathroom.

Wait! The kids share the bathroom???? Where was this stated? I must have missed that one, I never knew that. I assumed they each had their own bathroom. Frankly, I don't know anyone that has a bathroom in EACH BEDROOM.

Im confused!!! because in the episode where jacky is getting dressed in djs room shes suppose to be in his bathroom in and darlene comes in throught the supposed door on the right hand side!! I think in that episode they made out as if dj had a bathroom because darlene was meant to walk in on jacky by going to get dj back for the prank he pulled on her.In early episodes Dj gets told off by becky and darlene for using there bathroom because he does not have one.

Yeah, exactly. That is why I don't know where it was said that D.J. and the girls shared a bathroom. There was never another door shown in the girls bathroom. Maybe people are confused with the Brady Bunch bathroom.

Remember the scenes where Becky was "ill" in the bathroom and the other scene when Darlene was dyeing her hair when Molly walked in, there was no appearance of another door, although you could say that is there is the side where the audience is sitting, but it doesn't make sense since Jackie used D.J.'s bathroom when she was changing into another shirt.

That is another thing. It seems that Jackie was afraid to use the girls bathroom to change because she would be worried that Darlene might walk in on her. She didn't expect anyone to walk in on her in D.J.'s bathroom.

Yeah!! exactly!! i cant see that they shared a bathroom? Dj and the girls i mean. From when jacky was using "djs bathroom" that was suppose to be where you enter his rooms as in previous episodes? then the episode where jacky hurt her back and was staying in djs room they entered the room from the right side aswell??

im pretty sure that it was mentioned that they shared a bathroom. I remember Darlene saying in the episode where DJ puts bath beads in her pockets, that he must have gotten in through the bathroom, because she locked her door. Which means they shared a bathroom. And also in the episode where DJ masturbates, Darlene said he was in the upstairs bathroom. And it was never mentioned that she was afraid to change in the girls bathroom. She might have been afraid to change in there bedroom. I also think that on the "actual set" the rooms aren't connected. I'm assuming that they shoot from where the wall would be between the 2 bedrooms. Then it would make sense that way. thats why it looks like the doors are on opposite sides.

I thought the conner house had two bathrooms upstairs? In the episode "Homeward Bound" Darlene comments that DJ uses her and Becky's bathroom because "its the only one with a lock on it"
