Default Growing Pains Coming to The-N Starting 5/28!

Growing Pains is joining The-N (the nightime network for teens shared on the NOGGIN network)

It begins Monday 5/28 with a late-night marathon from 12AM to 6AM.

It will air Mondays - Thursdays at 12AM and 12:30AM at least for the week of May 28. The-N.com schedule says it's just for that week, but that might change.

I hate Fresh Prince, Growing Pains already aired on local channels, it was on Nick...I need to see something new and fresh. I only watched GP during its first run...I hate it in reruns.

If you need to see something new and fresh, watching pretty much any Viacom-owned channel is a bad idea.

Relative to what the channel normally programs, this is a radically different direction. I'd say they're probably just burning off their airplays since they have no intention of airing it on Nick again. It'll be gone soon enough.

I actually like watching Noggin for Ren & Stimpy, Spongebob and those related cartoons. I would rather watch those cartoons in the evening than another run of the mill sitcom that I can see on another channel (or rather, wouldn't see).

Except Noggin doesn't even rerun Ren & Stimpy, etc - that's Nicktoons TV, an entirely different channel.

Ah, I get those two channels mixed up. Thank you. Noggin has great children's programming in the daytime. I love it. That Degrassi show is always showing at night. As for GP, I would like to see something that hasn't been shown on another channel.

That's what I want to know. What happened to A Different World? I looked forward to Saturday nights to watch it and they yanked it off.

It lasted a few weeks, I'm sure it didn't do as well as their signature reruns like Fresh Prince and Moesha.

I just don't understand how Fresh Prince can continuously do well on 3 networks? The show is really getting to me. Someone just has to kill it. I mean, its bad enough we get a marathon every other week on NAN, then The N airs a latenight marathon plus to evening airings each night, and then TBS, which used to be my favorite daytime and evening channel, picks it up and then adds it to their lowrated sitocm lineup.

There is no way Growing Pains is going to do well. It bombed on Nick at Nite, it's DVD sales were horrible, and it doesn't do well in syndication, just like A Different World. But, everyone here is right. It is a wonderful change to what they have on now. Too bad its at midnight.

A Different World did well because it was on after Cosby

You know, I have always wondered about these things. This is not the only show that was on after another very successful show. Yet, when Cosby was first, A Different World was either second or third. But, I still don't think this is the complete reason for this show. It's first season sales were not that bad, plus it does pretty well in national syndication.

There are other shows that originally did very well without leadins, but don't do well in syndication. Murphy Brown was always in the top 10 for 7 consecutive seasons, with no lead in, but can't sell in syndication or on DVD. Who's the Boss, Growing Pains, and Mad About You are the same way.
