What exactly did Myra see in Steve? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I know there's a woman for every man, but c'mon now, this was a show that showcased males as hunks and not nerds. Myra, as smooth as she was, could have had any hunk she wanted to, and she was attracted to a nerd. It was never explained why Myra was attracted to Steve. Steve didn't like girls. He liked Laura, but that was a friendship next door like, not a romantically like.

Just for the record, Myra (Cherie Thomas) is the real life daughter of Kool & the Gang saxaphonist Dennis Thomas. I found out in Jet Magazine when she died.

My fault. I meant to say Michelle Thomas, not Cherie Thomas, Dennis Thomas's real life daughter from Kool & the Gang. She died young. She went with Malcom Jamal Warner in real life too.

I loved Michelle Thomas, she seemed so sweet and down to earth. Shortly before she passed she won a role on The Young & The Restless. She did an interview with Soap Opera Digest. I still have the article somewhere. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

Malcolm did an Interview with ET some months after she died and he said that he stayed in the hospital with her and was in the room with her when she died. Talk about a true friend. Now that's a good man.

I find it sad, that Michelle died too, but I'll provide a response to the original topic of this thread for a change.

Well, as beautiful as Myra was, she was also the nerd girl. Her cousin Ted said she liked intelligent guys. And why couldn't a girl find Steve attractive just because he's a nerd? Really, I would take Steve over any of the hunks, who Laura went out with, even if they looked better than him.
