The Mathers Brothers? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Last night I was watching a DVD episode from season 1, "Little Pitchers Have Big Fears," and I was really bugged. The little boy who played "Marshall" seemed so familiar. He reminded me of Beaver, but I knew it wasn't Jerry Mathers. Still, it bothered me to the point of distraction. Finally, during the closing credits, it listed that "Marshall" was played by Jimmy Mathers. That satisfied my curiosity.

Still, I am now wondering about Jimmy Mathers. Is he Jerry's older or younger brother, and was he featured in anything else? What is the story about him?

I'm guessing he is retired from acting, as he doesn't have any credits listed post-1968.

Jimmy Mathers was younger than Jerry, by 1964 Jerry was already a teenager I believe. BTW, Little Pitchers is one of my favorite episodes it really shows that Sam and Darrin would make great parents. I also love June Lockhart, she's one of my favorite tv mom's.

Wow, he sure does look like Jerry. Yes, he would have been the younger brother for sure since LITB started much earlier.

I don't blame you for being distracted! Funny, I never noticed it before and I'm sure I've seen every episode of Bewitched.

Playing Jimmy Mathers' mother in this episode was none other than June Lockhart (Lost in Space, Lassie, etc.)!
