In "The Paper Route," the boys had to earn money for one bike. I don't know about all of you who grew up in the '60s, but in our family each kid had a bike. Why was Ward so cheap that the boys had to save for a shared bike? I don't understand it.

Ward was not a minimum wage worker. He had the money. what a tight-ass. I know that growing up in the early 70's every kid I knew and their brothers and sisters had a bike.

I never understood that either.
Ward was a CPA for pete's sake. He could have spared enough money for two bikes.

I don't if it was established that they had a bike and were saving for a new one. Or maybe June thought bikes were a little dangerous and the boys never had one.

I even had a bike as a kid and we were far from being rich or well off.

I haven't posted in this LITB forum in a long time. I thought I did post in this forum about the TV reunion and about how they takled about Ward's death.
But anyway, was this before or after Beaver's new bike got 'stolen'? |
