Default Jay mentioned that tonight is the 15th Anniversary Of the Tonight Show which really

didn't need to mentioned since he is leaving in 2 years-lol I can see if it was going to be around for 5 or 10 more years but since he is not I don't think it should have been mentioned. It's not like anyone would have known

It is still a milestone. Especially since many thought he wouldn't last a year.

It is a milestone. For the reason that Brian stated above. Regardless of who the host of a show is, if it lasts 15 years, that is something to celebrate.

Well I feel it's only a milestone if you have no intentions on going anywhere in the next 5 or 10 years. 20th anniversary is more of a milestone but he wion't be there-lol That Red headed ****** Conan will be doing the show in 2012

Jay Leno made his money and did an incredible job of transforming The Tonight Show into his vision. Considering he had HUGE shoes to fill once Johnny Carson stepped down, I think 15 years is a great accomplishment. Jay Leno deserves to be celebrated.

Just dont why he is leaving at such a young age and why that A$$hole is taking over. Two things I still don't know

Conan is not an A-hole. He is a comedic genius. He also did an excellent job of transforming the Late Night show into his own after David Letterman left.

All your posts above Brian are very well put. I know you are not a Leno fan, but to still give recognition where it is due is RIIIIIGHT ON!!!!!!!

Solomon, as usual, your philosophies on certain matters no longer amazes me. I realize it is what makes you, YOU. I think sometimes you make these statements just to get a "reaction".

So, because Jay won't be around in five years, the show shouldn't be celebrated? Jay is not the only person on The Tonight Show. There is a band, cast, crew, production, etc. The production crew, since they are behind the scenes, deserve to have a milestone like this acknowledged. Jay may not be there in five years, but those people most likely will be. It takes all of them to make the show.

If I were dying in one year from a disease, does that mean I shouldn't bother celebrating a birthday this year, because, what is the point, I won't be around?

Very well said. If anything, if not to personally celebrate Jay, at least celebrate all the hard working men and women who made the show a success.

It wasn't a 15th anniversary celebration, Jay just mentioned it was his 15th anniversary in his monolouge. Now if it was a celebration that really would have been GOOFY-lol

So then what is the problem? I don't get it. If he mentioned it in his monologue, why rag on it?

I felt asleep early, I missed Leno last night.

It was kind of unexpected, and I had to think for a minute-"Oh it is 15 years"-lol

Conan is taking over in 2009; not 20012.

And, regardless of how you feel about him (and I happen to like him) I DON'T APPRECIATE CALLING HIM THAT WORD!!!
