Default Ginger Ale tastes MUCH BETTER in Restaurant/bars than the

Ginger Ale in the Bottle. Just recently I was drinking ginger ale in red lobster and got 6 refills. Now i'm drinking the ginger ale in the bottle and i don;t get the same taste. Give me the SPRAY Ginger Ale-lol

That's odd - I always find fountain drinks taste more watery or if they're low, you get that syrupy taste (in Colas).

I still like my Canada Dry or Verner's in bottles best.

One drink that I've always found that tastes better in a "fountain" is root beer. You can't beat A&Ws

A&W taste like ROOTPISS-lol Very Nasty, but It's something about the ginger ale at the bar, it's like SODA HEAVEN. The waitress was getting tired of refilling my drinks-lol

You think? By the 6th refill, she probably felt like pouring it over your head, lol. As for ginger ale, it's Schweppes in the can for me. So flavorful and crisp. I swear it tingles my tongue. Ahhhhhh!!! Refreshing!

As for restaurant sodas...I tended bar for many years in some very nice establishments, and behind the scenes of some of those soda and beer machines aren't all that pretty.

The Food Lion (store brand) ginger ale beats the national brands by a mile. I was a Canada Dry person until I tried it one day and was hooked. I've also never seen ginger ale in fountains around here.

Ahhh - you're talking about a Cott product - largest private label manufacturer of soft drinks in North America. They're the guys who make RC Cola.

I love their "Chubbie" drinks!!

I still love my Verners too, although it's got limited availability I think.

And Solomon, A&W root beer is good (although admitedly, I'm not a huge fan of root beer anyway).

And Janice - oooohhh you're so right on those soda fountains. I worked in a restaurant years ago and know exactly what you mean.

I love fountain sodas. Root Beer tastes the best btw. But I agree about the bottles. I think it has to do with the fountain's syrup and seltzer mixture that makes it taste better!

I agree about the root beer--one of the best drinks to get from the fountain, in my opinion

I also loooove getting my usual diet coke from the fountain. There's nothing better than a tall, cold glass of that stuff--topped with a lemon and loads of ice...mmm!

Ohhhh, I can vouch for that!!! I would spend time cleaning the soda machines and drink machines at the restaurant I worked at and let me tell you, the guck that was built up inside where the liquid would come out of... I had to disassemble the parts and so forth to really clean it out. Man, if that is how it was where I worked at, I can imagine elsewhere!

Diet Coke and lemon is great but I prefer Lime, It gives it great flavor plus they're cheaper than lemons.

its the opposite for me, they taste better in the bottle then in a fountain. sprite tastes like shyt in most restaraunt fountains, which is why i'll only get it in bottles.

yeah that's exactly how it tastes for me. it's the worst in sprite. nasty.

WOW, having Ginger Ale on fountain, must be an East Coast deal, because I cannot think of any restaurant, that serves Ginger Ale on tap, here in the LA area.
well, i live in the NYC area and i've never seen one either, lol.

I really think its the ice they put in it!!

When I goto Mcdonalds and a get a large coke I have them fill it at drive thru and it tastes delicious!!!!!

If I fill it myself it usually doesnt taste the same.... I try to figure out how much ice thier machine puts in and put the same myself!!

My dad doesnt realise it.... He thinks filling the soda yourself is better as there is LESS ICE but it doesnt taste as good!

I havent ever been able to totally figure that out but I am very curious why!!

Usually soda out of the bottle in the coolers does not taste the same... NO ICE IN IT.......

Quite strange......

I used to drink ginger ale and at first I thought I wouldn't like it but then my mom got some Canada Dry Ginger Ale and I took a sip and liked it. But I was hooked on it a lot when I would be sick with colds and it tasted even better. Now I still like ginger ale but never see it on sale
