Any changes from your original rankings? Only a few have switched around for me, and not by much.
1. Chris Richardson (My #1 fave from the start. He may not have been the best vocalist, but he was still awesome in so many different ways and for me, the show would've been even more boring without him there. He's definitely a star in the making. I still love him and I always will! )2. Blake Lewis (He grew on me so much throughout the competition - he always captivated me with his unique, stand-out performances. Amazing for someone whose audition I hated, LOL. He's an original and a true musician...just a couple of many things I admire about him.) 3. Gina Glocksen (She used to be my second favorite, but Blake won me over easily after she got eliminated. I do still love her though and I'm glad I found a girl this season that I can actually idolize.) 4. Melinda Doolittle (She bored me occasionally, but most of her performances were really amazing. No doubt that she's one of the best vocalists the show's ever seen. Plus she seems incredibly sweet! Again, another girl I can actually call my IDOL.) 5. Phil Stacey (Even though he also bored me sometimes and was wildly inconsistent throughout the competition, I loved his voice and his down-to-earth personality. Seeing him in all his interviews with Chris after they both got eliminated made me love him more.) 6. Jordin Sparks (She was one of my favorites since the auditions and during the semi-finals, then she became overrated and super-pimped by the judges, producers, fans, and their moms. I don't know, so many things about her irked me later on, LOL. She does have a great voice though and some of her performances have been goosebump-inducing for me. After she won last night, the animosity I felt towards her and anyone pimping her just sort of went away. She's a year YOUNGER than me, yet I look up to her. She's going to do great things. Congrats on your win Jordin!) 7. Chris Sligh (He came off as an ass sometimes, but other times I loved his wit and sense of humor. As for his singing, he did have a good voice. I think he got screwed over by his song choices during the finals. His semi-final performances were also good, but not that memorable.) 8. Stephanie Edwards (I didn't like her much when I first saw her. It wasn't until she left that I realized how much I DID like her. She could've been more versatile with her song choices, but I did love her voice and that contemporary R&B vibe she gave off. She also seemed really nice.) 9. Lakisha Jones (I was so irked by how overrated she was at first and so bored by her predictable song choices. She's an amazing singer, but she lacked the stage presence I saw in most of the other contestants.) 10. Sanjaya Malakar (I don't think he's the best singer, but he's a brilliant entertainer and a fun-loving person. Even if you don't like his singing, he can still make you smile and laugh. That's why I love him <3 ) 11. Brandon Rogers (Used to like him over Sanjaya, but when I thought about it, I just saw nothing memorable about him, unlike Sanjaya, who I have a few fond memories of, LOL! Brandon had a great voice and so much potential, but he failed to deliver. His song choices sucked and his performances were forgettable. I admire his positivity and strong spirit though.) 12. Haley Scarnato (My least favorite since the top 12 and she still is. I thought most of her performances were bad and that those that were considered "entertaining" were fake. Plus I hated how she wore close to nothing on the bottom half of her body almost every week during the finals. But...all that negativity I had about her is almost gone. I still think she's one of the worst vocalists and performers in the top 12, but she does deserve credit for a few good performances. Plus, I saw an interview of her on Idol Extra and she seems really nice.) That's all. |

1. Melinda Doolittle
Clearly, the best vocalist AI has ever had and she sold her song in every genre, every week... by far the most consistent Idol performer ever as well. It's a shame she didn't win 2. Jordin Sparks She was up and down but delivered some amazing performances (particularly "I Who Have Nothing" and "You'll Never Walk Alone") - she deserved the crown over Blake, and is an amazing vocalist for being 17 years old 3. Gina Glocksen Someone who went way too early, Gina tried to please the judges too much but when she was on like she was her last 2 weeks before being voted off, she could definitely hold her own 4. LaKisha Jones The intensity and passion faded as the show went on (minus the brief reprieve during Bon Jovi week) but early on, she was incredibly dynamic 5. Blake Lewis Certainly original if nothing else. His "You Give Love a Bad Name" might have been the performance of the year and he was definitely above all the other guys 6. Chris Sligh He added a great sense of humor and he was talented but messed himself up with bad song choices 7. Phil Stacey When he was on, he had the best voice of all the guys but he was wildly inconsistent and often quite bland 8. Stephanie Edwards She was gone too soon, but she just didn't stand out among Melinda, Jordin, and LaKisha 9. Brandon Rogers He deserved to go early but I would have been curious to hear a little more from him 10. Haley Scarnato She was by far the least talented of the girls, and I was mad at her because she got in over the far, far superior Sabrina 11. Chris Richardson Extremely untalented, he came off as cocky and the nasal voice was unbearable 12. Sanjaya Malakar Sure he provided humor to the show, but it was a joke that he was in the top 12 and after about a week or two, it stopped being funny when far better people were going home before him |

1. Jordin - Still the best of a bum season. She was very consistent, she only had a few bad performances. Her voice was really good, but she wasn't boring either, and was sort of like a more contemporary (andbettercough) version of Melinda.
2. Gina - Poor Gina...she really could've been awesome but was never given the chance. She deserved WAY more then 9th place. Looking at her performances, she only had 1 or 2 bad ones. I feel bad for her - she could've been really awesome, but got eliminated before she got a chance to break out of her shell. She was fun to watch and had a good voice. 3. Phil - At first, I liked Phil. Then I couldn't stand him after Gina was eliminated, but right before he was eliminated I startef to like him again. He had a few really, really bad weeks, but when he was good, he was REALLY good (see: Every Breath You Take, Blaze of Glory). Definitley one of the better contestants this season. 4. Melinda - IMO, VERY overrated. That being said, there's no denying she has a great voice, and is a really polished and taleted musican. I don't like her style, and some of her performance were borrring, but she also had a lot of great moments, and was really consistent. FAR from the best vocalist ever, though. She was good and had a very good voice, but she definitley was a little boring. Still in the top tier of contestants, though. 5. Blake - Blake was always "in the middle" for me, and he still is. I really like him when he sings normally (ie: This Love) and he was good when he beatboxed/updated SOMETIMES, but a lot of the times, he was too over-the-top with it. Still, I respect his originality and risk-taking. 6. LaKisha - She was always either amazing or downright awful. Her problem was that she peaked early on in the semi-finals and was past her prime when the competition really began to get started. Anything past top 9 week from her was pretty bad. She started off great, but by the middle of the finals, was one of the weakest contestants, so it all adds up to her being a middle-of-the-road contestant. 7. Chris R - I really liked him at one point, and at one point he was one of the strongest guys, but when it comes down to it, he's really nothing to write home about, IMO. He did have a lot of really good performances, but he had just as many really bad ones. A little overrated for me...Inothing amazing, IMO. 8. Haley - She never really did anything noteworthy, IMO. But she had a few ok performances, and had a nice voice. And she was hot. lol. Anyway, she was just...there. Kinda blah, nothing special. A poor man's Carrie Underwood/Katharine McPhee, really.9. Stephanie - She was overshadowed by Jordin, Melinda, and (since she left while LaKisha was still good), LaKisha. Not really any great performances, just a few decent ones, but none really too memorable. And when she was bad, she sucked....a lot (her last 2 performances). 10. Sanjaya - LOL...he's entertaining, but obviously, he didn't really deserve to be there, and had a horrible voice. But he's funny. 11. Brandon - Brandon who? Never did anything. At all. Didn't deserve top 12, IMO. 12. Chris S - None of his performances were good, IMO, just a few of them were alright. He's extremley arrogant and just bugs me overall. Don't like him at all. |

1. Phil - My favorite from the beginning. I love his voice and I think he's awesome. He had some really great performances. Plus, he seems like a really nice person.
2. LaKisha - Amazing vocalist. Even though she started off strong in the beginning and some of her later performances weren't as good as her beginning performances, she was still a great contestant. Very powerful voice. 3. Melinda - She has an amazing voice and was the most consistent contestant this season. She never had a bad performance. It's a shame she didn't win because she deserved it. She also had a very powerful voice. 4. Chris S - A good voice that left too soon. 5. Chris R - I didn't care for his voice when he sang nasally but when he sang normally I really liked it. He also seems like a really nice person. 6. Blake - Very original and he had a good voice when he sang straight without the beatboxing. Don't get me wrong, he's a great beatboxer it's just that it got old when he kept doing it week after week when it is a singing competition (well really it's a popularity contest but you know what I mean). 7. Gina - A very nice voice that left too soon. 8. Brandon - An ok voice. I liked him but I think he deserved the place he got. 9. Stephanie - She was pretty good but like other have said, she was overshadowed by some of the other female vocalists. 10. Haley - A pretty voice but I don't think she was right for the competition. 11. Jordin - I liked her in the beginning. But it was in the Top 12 that I really started to notice her voice. She has powerful voice but to me her vibrato kills it and she's off key a lot. Then she became extremely overrated. Sorry folks but I fail to see what's so great about her voice, or hear what's so great about her voice, I should say. 12. Sanjaya - Obviously did not deserve to be in the Top 12 but he had a decent voice when he sang ballads. He was entertaining for a while, though. Then it got old. |
