Default The Star Wars 30th Anniversary Thread!

Yeah i know this thread is a day early, but I don't care.

Greetings superfans! TJL here.

:starwars

Welcome to the Star Wars 30th Anniversary thread, celebrating all things Star Wars!

It's hard to believe it's been 30 years since George Lucas' sci fi adventure masterpiece premiered in theaters across America and became the cultural phenomenon we all know today.

Please feel free to post your thoughts, reflections, and memories of the Star Wars films. Talk about the characters, the toys, the actors, whatever!

I will also post some info about the scheduled events this weekend that are also celebrating this great day.

Happy Anniversary Star Wars!

There are actually 2 movies coming out that will celebrate the greatness that is Star Wars. A movie called Fanboys and a movie called coincidentally 5-25-77!!!

I was eight years old, and my father on one of his rare saturdays off took my brother my sister who was probably about 5 and myself to see Star Wars.

I remember we had to drive very far to the theater on route 1. This was long before the multiplexes started cropping up in New Jersey, so the twin cinema style theater had to suffice.

I really had no idea what this movie was about, but my Fahter had mentioned that one of his co-workers had seen it.

From the very second the words Star Wars flashed on the screen to John Williams' booming score I was hooked. The action, the spectacle, the good guys and bad guys. I was amazed.

We talked about the movie all the way home, and then we took turns telling Mom everything that had happened onscreen.

I saw Star Wars five more times that summer with either my family or friends.

And as many of you know whenever it comes on I will drop what I am doing and watch it again.

Happy 30th Anniversary Star Wars! In my opinion, it's the greatest movie ever made. I've been a Star Wars fan ever since I was a little kid. I used to have some of the Star Wars action figures, trading cards and a coloring book. I wish I still had some of those action figures, they're probably worth a lot of money now.

In honor of Star Wars turning 30, I plan on watching episodes IV-VI tomorrow night.
