The scripts of sanford and son being similar to Amos and Andy. He wanted a little more input in the scripts and was tired of the bufoonery that was in the Scripts. Wow, that was news to me yesterday

Amos and Andy? Wow. I have never seen Amos and Andy so I can't see the comparison.

Did he not read the scripts? Or did he merely see $$$$$? I can see if it was a DRAMA abt a man who lived and owned a junkyard. I remember vaguely abt Redd and his so-called fued with the show and its producers. |

That's what happens with a lot of "stars" of sitcoms. They get a big head and all of a sudden want to take control of everything. |

He sure took control of his last show, Royal Family (is that what is what called?)...he had a heart attack on the set and there went the show.

Jet magazine, March 1974[/QUOTE] Looking at the episodes following his return (The Masquerade Party, Greatest Show in Watts, etc.) it would appear to me Redd lost that fight. |

Honestly, this show became more cartoonish as time went on, so if Redd Foxx was claiming that the show was stereotypical before he left, what was it after? The earlier episodes had more of a sense or realism to them and the acting was better - to me after Redd Foxx quit, the show became more about the jokes than the character interactions.
