Default Season Finale

No talk about this yet? Amazing season finale. Flash forward idea was neat, I didn't think they were forwards until we saw the ending.

It was an amazing finale, to finish off an amazing season. I loved it....I wonder if that was the big game changer, where now we`ll see everything in the future, and we`ll flash back to find out what happened on the island.

Well if that was supposed to be the future it sure looked bleak. I tended to ignore the flashforwards or the front stories(since it sure wasn't a back story).

Damn after last episode and this one I am so going to miss Charlie. I even started to warm up to Desmond, and I hated the two episodes that he was featured.

Favorite scenes were Jack beating the crap out of Ben and Hurley to the rescue in the van.

Yay for an uninterrupted series of seasons. They lost momentum this season but rebounded really well IMO.

it was an awesome finale, but it left me a little confused by the ending.

- of course when they start back up 9 months from now, no one will remember that part anyways...

*i was anxious to talk about this finale last night - but I was a little worried about spoilers, and I didn't want to be the one to START a thread about it.

So it was a flash forward? I loved the episode. It had me glued to the tube all the way through. I was just confused about the ending.

Very good episode, I thought it was flashbacks too until the very end. Hated to see that eye-patch dude survive, he must have 9 lives like a cat. And it was good seeing Locke make it back. I just hate waiting so long for the new season to start.

All I can say about that finale is WOW!

I'm going to miss Charlie. He had a great farewell for his character. He died a hero, the perfect way to go out. And he did it all because of his love for Claire.

I was glad to see Locke alive, but I didn't like him standing in the way of Jack and the rest of the survivors from getting off the island. Locke and Ben should just build a community and start a new nation on the island so they'll never have to leave.

I figured that the flashbacks were actually flash forwards about half way through the episode. There were some small nit picks that I could tell that proved it was after he got off the island, especially the remarks made about his father. Although seeing Kate at the end (And by the way she looked amazing) was still a real shocker. So many questions left unanswered.

Whose funeral did Jack attend? Who was the 'he' that Kate referred too when she said she had to get back too? Did anyone else get off the island? Gah, I wish it was 9 months in the future.

Rachel: Nooo!

Yea but Locke probably knows something about that device that that girl had. Maybe Walt told him LOL I think Ben was telling the truth because she was not from Penelope's boat.

Every year the show reinvents itself, so next year`s big overall story is most likely going to be about Naomi`s people. Or as Ben put it, the bad guys!

I don't think *Walt* told him anything about the device. He probably led Locke to the gang, and I'm sure Locke figured out quick, the device could get a signal going. To stay on the island, he knew he had to sabatoge(sp?) the plan, like he's done several times before.

Definitely a compelling episode. Sorry to see Charlie go... I think he could have saved himself, if he had run OUT and shut the door. Hell, even if he hadn't shut the door, he and Desmond should have had plenty of time to put on the scuba-gear before the station flooded completely. But I guess he had to die to fulfill his destiny.

I'm glad Hurley was given a chance to be a hero, too... without having to die.

My guess is that the person in the casket is Locke, and that the "he" Kate referred to ("he'll get mad if he knows I'm here" -- or something like that ) is Sawyer.
Another theory is that the dead person is either Ben or Juliet, which would also explain why none of the survivors (assuming there are more than just Jack, Kate and a few others) would come to the funeral. In that theory, I would lean towards it being Juliet, as I can't imagine Jack caring one bit whether anyone attended Ben's funeral. Unless the nature of their relationship changes between now and them getting off of the island. Either way, I'm not so sure it would be either of those two.

I never expected this series to have a "and they all lived happily ever after" kind of ending, but, wow, the future for the Castaways seems pretty bleak.
Then again, maybe the future is only bleak for Jack. Kate certainly didn't look any worse for the wear -- she looked like she's been living a good life since returning to the states. So perhaps Jack feels some sort of "survivor's guilt" over the people he couldn't save, and who perhaps were left behind on the island?

I wonder if this will basically end up being 'Poseidon Adventure - The Series,' where only a very small handful of the Castaways ultimately survives and makes it off the island. I hope the producers give us at least a little ray of light at the end of the series, by having a few of the characters actually leading happy lives after returning from the island, so it's not just six seasons of death and violence and gloom.

Charlie was my favorite character on LOST, and I'm going to miss him dearly. I'm glad he went out a hero. Like you said, he needed to fulfill his destiny. He did it for his friends, and more importantly, for Claire and Aaron to get on that helicoptor....I just hope Des gets back to the camp and let`s everyone know the message....

I think the HE Kate was referring to might be a son, or just some normal guy she's met, and is happy with. She said they aren't to talk about anything on the island, and it does appear she left that in the past. Maybe she even got back with her old fiance?...I think it would be too predictable if she was going home to Sawyer (and this being Lost, nothing is what it seems)...I'm not sure Ben would ever leave the island...And I don't think it was Juliet, because she had family, and was loved. And I don't think she would live in such a run down neighborhood. She was a Doctor, afterall....

I agree about Jack feeling that he needs to go back to the island. I also think since it`s going to be his fault that Naomi`s people are probably now coming (supposedly they're bad people), maybe they captured and possibly killed some of the castaways, and he feels responsible.

Alright, so i think it's the best finale LOST has done, IMO. So much was going on.

I'm guessing Desmond is going to get back to the beach and deliver Charlies message about Naomi`s boat, and eventually Jack and everyone will come together and find out, proving t Jack that Ben was right about the *NEW Others* (Making Charlie a Hero..to some extent)...Those people will be coming for them!

I'm also guessing since its been a month since last years finale, those men that contacted Penny about picking something up, put her on full alert, and now she's with them/with some other ppl she hired, and is looking for Des hersef now.

I think Juliet and Tom were working together. I'm sure that's why he didn't kill the guys. Her face was so sad and confused, when Sawyer shot him. I think they had some sort of plan. any thoughts?

I'm glad we saw Walt...How did Locke get out????! We shall find out in april or something, LOL.

It was funny when Danielle just elbowed Ben in the face, and stood there like nothing. Haha!...and YAY! Her and Alex were officially reunited!

Another funny moment was Hurley driving the Dharma bus! Hahaha....And he got scared when Sawyer shut the door! I was lmao!

I have NO FREAKIN CLUE about the flashforward....I think the HE Kate was referring to might be a son, or just some normal guy she's met, and is happy with. She said they aren't to talk about anything on the island, and it does appear she left that in the past. Maybe she even got back with her old fiance?...Who knows...

I enjoyed the finale, although I'm holding out hope that the flash forward deal was a dream or something. I certainly hope that Kate and Jake survive the Island ordeal, but I'm not crazy over actually knowing it. So everytime we see them in peril from here on in, we can rest assured that they get out of harm's way, because we know they make it off the Island.

I'm confused about something. Jack in his flash forward mentioned his father twice. He told his boss at the hospital to get his father down here and we'll see who's drunker. He tried to write a prescription in his father's name at the pharmacy. I'm sure his father was dead when Jack was on the Island, so maybe I'm missing something.

I'll give this overall season a C. The last few episodes were fantastic, but I had to suffer through too much to get to the good stuff. Those six episodes last fall were a disgrace, in my opinion. I was throwing my sofa pillows at my big screen tv, and I'm not kidding, lol.

I thought it was great. I do have questionsa as all of us have. I did like seeing Locke but he was just a peppy as before the shooting. I thought he would come back with a limp or in somewhat crawling state.

Janice, I think Jack was so drunk that he thought his father was alive or maybe he was trying to be sarcastic.
His father is really dead, because in an earlier flashback we saw Jack confirm the body when being asked if that was his father.
