Default Creator Amy Sherman wants to do a Gilmore Girls TV Movie

In the next year or two, she hopes to make — wait for it — a two-hour Gilmore Girls TV-movie that ties up all those loose threads! ... "She said what?" gasped Scott Patterson after I relayed the information to him over the phone. "I didn't think she would be interested in doing something like that. But if she says she is, I would seriously consider it." Alexis Bledel was equally stunned. "A Gilmore Girls reunion?" she said with a laugh. "That's certainly not something I had thought of doing. That's really funny, I have no idea how I would feel in a few years. I don't know, I'm sure the script Amy would write would be great, but I guess I'd have to read it and see how I felt at the time." Last but not least, Lauren Graham e-mailed me late last night to say, "Could be a fun idea if everyone wanted to do it. I would do it just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me."

I just posted a thread about this, but I see that you beat me to it *deletes thread*

Anyways, I'm really surprised to see talk of this movie, especially since Lauren and Scott found the idea of a movie to be hilarious in various interviews I've read. I just hope that the movie actually gets made.

Part of me is thinking - well Amy, if you wanted to have a big sendoff for your show, then why didn't you take charge earlier this year and announce that GG will be going off the air and you will take the helm of a big 2 hour series finale in May?

But then I realized I'm insane to keep focusing on stuff like this, and I relaxed a bit.

Anyhoo, a reunion movie a few years from now would be a nice idea. It will be good to catch up with all the characters.

Plus it will give Lorelai and Luke a chance to break up and get back together agian three or four more times!

I'm with you completely, TJL!!! I was a bit shocked to see this news too, but I think it may be nice in a few years....we'll see...
I wish she was still on board for the last season though...

I was hoping they were going to do a reunion movie but I didn't expect one for at least 5 -8 years but 1 or two years would be great maybe then we could see Luke and Lorelai's wedding. But the best part about this reunion is that Amy wants to do it and write it. I know Amy gave up her rights to the show after she left last season but she is the only one that can do the show justice I mean this show was her vision and she wrote it so good and I believe she will do a great job if the reunion idea is a go which I really hope it is cause I really want a Gilmore Girl reuion to tie up all the loose threads.
