Is Fry's Brand Name GQ A Good Quality Dvd To Record On? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hello! Does anyone know if Fry's Electronic Superstores Own brand of blank Dvds named GQ are good quality disks to record and store Very Rare television shows on? I just received one episode from a series that took me about 25 years to find! This 1982 episode Has the Original commericals from WLS Chicago But I am worried that it was recorded on a brand that I do not know too much about? I wonder if Fry's brand name Will hold up durning the test of time? Have been told that one can buy a 100-pack of dvd-r's for $19.99 at Fry's.

Hi I use they a for a while sometime when I would send out people they would have trouble playing the disc. I stopped using them about 1 year ago I am currently using JVC they are at Fry's for 9.99 for a spool of 30 16X and I have never had any trouble with JVC I must have used over 500 JVC discs or more since I started trading more this year and no problem at all Good Luck Dianne

I wouldn't use any store brands. Put your trust in Sony, Maxell or Taiyo Yudens. They are the best out there.

If you're concerned that you will have problems with the disc because it was recorded on a store brand, Why not just transfer it to a brand you're more comfortable with. You've waited this long to get this episode & a back-up copy certainly won't hurt.

Taiyo yuden's are like $30 a 100 pack. I don't mess with anything else.
