Sanford And Son. The book i read this stuff in is about the history of black comedy. Anyway the article i read talked about Paul Mooney would go to Richard Pryor's house so they could write some stuff for Sanford And Son. Paul said he would have his 2 sons with him and Richard would have some drugs and a gun on the table while they would be writing. So Paul said that him and Richard would go over ideas for the show and Richard would always be cursing letting Paul know what he wanted to write for the show. Paul said he would have to tell Richard several times that they're writing for a tv show and the producers and director of the show isn't gonna let Redd Foxx and the other actors curse. Richard was crazy LOL. He had some serious issues.

But that's who Richard was anyway. He didn't let nobody change him, even the networks. Redd Foxx would have cursed if allowed to. He add-libbed a couple of times on Sanford and Son.
