Eve Plumb in Vintage Disaster Flick!

I just watched the Irwin Allen-produced TV movie, The Night The Bridge Fell Down. It was filmed in 1979, set to air in 1980, and shelved until 1983. The night it did finally air, it was creamed in the ratings - it was on opposite the final episode of M*A*S*H!! It is a flick about all these people stuck on a collapsing bridge hundreds of feet above nothing but water (my worst nightmare). Eve plays a novice nun(!) and her ex-boyfriend is played by Richard Gilliand, who married Jean Smart in real life. Other cast members are James MacArthur (Danno on Hawaii Five-O), Leslie Nielson(!) and my honey Gregory Sierra (Barney Miller, Sanford & Son).

For all you Brady junkies out there, here is another Brady connection. One of the others trapped on the bridge (and a bank robber, no less) is Desi Arnaz Jr! He of course was Eve Plumb's onscreen sister Maureen McCormick's crush and the subject of her missing diary. Small world...
