Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is set to make a comedy comeback as a news anchor in a new sitcom.

The actor, who played psychiatrist Doctor Frasier Crane for 22 years in both Cheers and Frasier, will star as a local news presenter trying to rebuild his career in the Fox TV show Back To You.

He will star alongside Everybody Loves Raymond actress Patricia Heaton in the comedy due to be screened in 2008.

This project will help keep Kelsey Grammer busy. After Frasier Crane and Sideshow Bob, a couple of roles he has portrayed for almost 20 years each, I'll be glad to see more from him.

I might actually try this out.....hopefully it wont be one sex joke after the other ( The reason i rarely watch sitcoms newer than 1988 )

Hopefully, itll be better than that (Whats his name?) the Rat thing he did for Spike* ( Who wouldnt know a good cartoon if it bit them ) a couple years back!

*The people who also gave us that huge bomb, "Stripperella"

Kelsey never left TV. Don't forget, after nearly 20 years, playing Frasier Crane on both Cheers and Frasier, he's still Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons, a role he's been playing almost as or maybe even longer than the total number of years he's played Frasier Crane. I know we only hear Kelsey as Sideshow Bob, but still, he's never left TV. Oh I know about the Sideshow Bob thing, but it's still not seeing Kelsey on TV. I'll be glad to see him again, not just hear him.
