Question Do you prefer Alice or One Day at a Time??

Both series began in the mid-'70s, ran 9 seasons and the lead characters were single moms struggling to get by. Which show did you like better? I'll go with Alice. She seemed more likable than Ann Romano, plus she had a funnier supporting cast.

Alice by far. An interesting main character and great back-up characters, especially Flo and Mel.

Alice.
One Day At A Time had too much of a 70's atmosphere for my tastes, and Alice just doesn't seem as dated. Plus, as has been mentioned already, the characters on Alice were alot more entertaining.

I prefer One Day at a Time. I thought the cast had great chemistry with each other and they were all very funny characters, especially Schneider.

I could never get into Alice all that much. I even bought that best of Alice dvd a few months ago and though I think it's a watchable show, I just don't think it's very funny. The only character who stood out was Mel.

I preferred Alice for the comedy, I've had my fill of Norman Lear's comedy dramas. Alice delivers the laughs of a true sitcom, with Flo being my favorite character.

Alice. It was funnier and I loved Mel. But, character wise, I do prefer Ann Romano though over Alice Hyatt. Schnieder was funny too.

Both really sucked but at least Bonnie Franklin had (dyed) red hair.
