did anyone find it wierd that in that episode, marc and his mother uttered the word 'swishy'? i mean, couldn't have the writers of that episode made marc/michael urie say to his mother he is gay, when he confronted her? i mean don't get me wrong, i loved that episode, but it was kinda strange that marc said swishy, rather than something on the lines of ' i am gay/homosexual'. besides we are in the 21st century and i don't understand why the word gay should be regarded as being offensive or taboo, if you know what i mean.
it was just an observation that i made when i watched this episode |

I don't think it was done that necessarily to keep from saying gay as much as it was to make Marc finally mad enough to tell his Mom about himself. Seeing how she would talk about a boy she didn't even know really hit home for him and he finally had the courage to tell her the truth about himself. JMO

I didn't really understand that either. Maybe the writers thought it sounded funnier that way.

i actually thought that not only was it odd but it sounded kinda daft, or in other words, ridiculous. to be honest, i don't actually know whether that term 'swishy' has sexual or homosexual connotations. i know one of the writers of that episode is gay himself i think, though whether he had something to do with coming up with that word is a different matter, i guess
