Default Free Vintage Sitcoms You Can Watch Online: Part 1 - The 1950s

I dedicate this thread to all the people on here who love to watch the classics, to those who grew up with the shows that are mentioned here, or who discovered them through reruns on TV Land, Nick at Nite, or their local stations, and who are absolutely fed up by the way these stations choose to program their schedules today. I say to you, why wait for what seems like ages for your favourite show to show up on TV or pay a high price for when they come out on DVD, when you can watch them for free---right here and right now, any time you want? In the past, I've talked about sites like TV4U.com that offer free complete episodes of vintage TV series on their website. Since then, I've discovered a few more and I'd like to share them with you now. Simply look for your favourite 1950s TV series and be amazed at what you see.

OK, enough talk! Let's have some fun!

I've seen a handful of those sites in the years after you posted this, and I saw a number of those sites, but a few--the ones owned by TV4U, seem to be gone gone gone gone...

The sites are gone because they no longer exist. I'm sad to report that TV4U.com no longer operates. It went kaput sometime last year, so if you want to find anything from there now, your best bet might be to go to the Internet Archive and type the site's name on the Wayback Machine and it will show you what TV4U looked like in its heyday when it showed many wonderful videos from TV's early days, some going as far back as the late 1940s. Needless to say, this was one of my favourite video sites ever and I miss it terribly! Since its demise, I've been looking for a site that might be similar to it that specializes in vintage TV videos, mainly public domain but also with a few additional surprises that you might not expect. I believe I've found one!! It's called (seriously!) Uncle Earl's Classic TV Channel and it features vintage TV and movies from the good old days from many different genres, like Comedy, Drama, Musicals, Kids, Westerns, Game Shows, etc. To give you a general idea, check out this page:

Uncle Earl's Classic TV

If you're looking for specific shows, here are Uncle Earl's pages for the following sitcoms:

Burns And Allen

Jack Benny

Lucy/Desi Comedy Hour

Ozzie and Harriet

My Three Sons

That's just a sample of what they have. I hope you like it. By the way, the original links that I made were done 5 years ago, so obviously I'll have to make a new set. Look for a full update coming soon!!
