Spend 4th of July with America's favorite family moving on up! - Friday Nite Movies Every Friday starting at 10pm e/p TV Land Friday Movies continue in June! We all know them and we all love them. We have all seen these movies so many times we can quote entire scenes verbatim…yet we still watch them whenever they’re on. These classic movies are back for nostalgic enjoyment this spring on TV Land. Friday, July 6 10pm-1am The Negotiator (1998) In the midst of an elaborate conspiracy, an expert negotiator is driven to the edge when he's framed for the murder of his partner, as well as embezzling money from his department's pension fund. His only chance to prove his innocence is to take hostages himself, acquire the services of another expert negotiator, and find out who's running the conspiracy before it's too late. Encores: Saturday at 6pm, Sunday at 3pm, Monday at 11am, Wednesday at 6pm, and Thursday at 12pm. Friday, July 13 10pm-12am Dragnet (1987) Friday and Streebek are assigned to some very strange robberies, like i.e. the stealing of one bat, a 30 feet long snake and the mane of a lion from a zoo. All the latest BAIT magazines were also recently stolen, and some chemichals that when are mixed correctly develops a very deadly gas. All these thefts have one thing in common; visit cards with the word "PAGAN" left at the crime scenes. Solving these crimes, including why plenty of police vehicles have been stolen lately, involves the usual; to drink coffee at strip tease bars, rescue kidnapped virgins from drowning and lose the job. Encores: Saturday 7pm; Sunday at 3pm; Monday at 11am; Wednesday at 8pm; Thursday at 12pm. Friday, July 20 10pm-12:30am Top Gun (1989) A young recruit aspires to become the top fighter pilot in the prestigious naval training school he attends. Encores: Saturday 7pm. Friday, July 27 8pm-10:00pm Speedway (1968) Elvis Presley sings his way around the race circuit as successful speedway driver Steve Grayson. All is fine and dandy until the tax return submitted by a wise-cracking Bill Bixby (as Steve's manager) is scrutinised by the IRS and lands Steve in financial hot water. Encores: Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 3pm Friday, July 27 10pm-1am The Negotiator (1998) In the midst of an elaborate conspiracy, an expert negotiator is driven to the edge when he's framed for the murder of his partner, as well as embezzling money from his department's pension fund. His only chance to prove his innocence is to take hostages himself, acquire the services of another expert negotiator, and find out who's running the conspiracy before it's too late. Encores: Wednesday at 6pm, Thursday at 12pm, Saturday at 12pm. -TV Land Confidential Season 2 Wednesdays at 10PM starting Wednesday, July 11, 2007 Just when you thought you heard it all. How did some of TV's greatest shows wind to an end? We'll tell what finale was originally planned for Mary Tyler Moore and how Bob Newhart kept the secret of his final Newhart episode. But on TV, good-bye doesn't always mean forever. How did What's Happening!! get a second chance at life and why didn't Larry Hagman appear in the Jeannie reunion movies? They're the guest stars who spice up your favorite shows. And they have stories too! From walk on parts to recurring characters this episode of TV Land Confidential tells the untold tales of the sometimes celebrated, sometimes unsung guests stars of series television. How did Christopher Lloyd go from a guest spot on Taxi to becoming a series star as Reverend Jim? Who showed up as a guest star and ended up marrying the star of a popular 80's sitcom? How did Tony Danza persuade his old friend Marilu Henner to guest star Who's The Boss? Why did a Mary Tyler Moore audience boo one guest star just for kissing Murray? And which guest star set the record for most cruises on the Love Boat? Here's a clue: Coochi Coochi - and we've got the other answers too! Encores: Wednesday at 1am, Friday at 1am, Sunday at 9:30am. - Back to the Grind Wednesdays at 10:30pm starting July 18, 2007 What happens when Sherman Hemsley spends the day sweating it out at a real dry cleaning establishment? Can Loni Anderson really hack it as a receptionist at a top radio station? And does the courtroom listen when Harry Anderson starts hitting the gavel? From Betty White reliving her “Sue Ann Nivens” character’s job as a cooking show host on The Mary Tyler Moore Show to Erik Estrada trying to fight crime with the real CHIPS Academy and more, the stars interact with the “real people” who do their TV jobs for a living. |

Mad About You and Murphy Brown were never slated for summer stunts this summer. It is "tentatively" scheduled for summer 2008.

August Preview:
TV Land has picked up the cable off-net rights to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, adding it to the schedule as of August 7th. Distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television, the show is arguably neither a TV-centric series nor a "classic" by most standards, but EM: Home Edition hits what the network calls its "sweet spot" - that is the audience that falls within the Adults 40-54 range. This is becoming embarrasing. No one on these boards would want to watch EM: Home Ed. on TV Land. This network is supposed to be a classic network airing classic shows that we all used to love, yet now they are airing EM, in a good hour, plus Scrubs and Just Shoot Me in the future. What is happening to this network?
Also, maybe a little too much of Elvis? I don't mind it at all. In facts, I'm glad they are doing a tribute to the King, but I think they may have gone a bit overboard on this one. |

As they clearly indicated already, they are catering to baby boomers. What they watched growing up AND what they watch now. So we can expect television from any era now.
Home Edition will be Tuesdays at 11PM. They can't air it 5-days a week until another few years. |

I just don't get why the network would want to go in this direction. It seems on these boards and on the TVLand boards that they ar losing popularity by doing this. I guess if the ratings are good . . .
