Default Stupid Episode

I just got finished watching "He Was Only 12," (pt. 2). It is so stupid. As I said before, Charles' beard was really phony, neatly trimmed and James' hair was combed and shiny even though he was in a coma in the wilderness.

Where did Charles get his food and building materials? I also thought it was strange that Caroline and the family made no effort to find/help/visit him and James. Every other time Charles left for a while Caroline was frantic, waiting for letters, sending food, pining away, wringing her hands, etc. Now Charles was gone for weeks and it didn't matter.

When Mr. Edwards finally showed up to bring him home, he looked more like a man who had been in the wilderness for weeks than Charles did.

There are episodes I can't stand to watch and I change the channel, but this one is so ridiculous it's fascinating.

Yeah, I just watched that too. I was comparing Mr. Edward's real beard to Charle's fake one, and came to the conclusion that the 'beard' part on Charles looks pretty similiar to Mr. Edward's, so I think that part is done fairly well. It's that mustache on Charles that looks like he bought it at a novelty shop and just glued it on. Horrible.

If they could make Charles cry, they became part of the family.

And again, here is a male member of the Ingalls family where he almost dies. See, I told ya, if you are a male and a member of the Ingalls family, you are most certain to die or almost die.

With all due respect to Jason Bateman and Melissa Francis, their characters were completely superfluous. To their credit, however, they both went on to successful TV careers: he in acting, and she in journalism.

Wow! I feel the exact opposite about this episode. It has to be one of my favorites. I guess I am more moved by the religious aspect of it. Charles building the monument to his King and having his prayers answered. Just something about the message and moral of the episode that makes it one of my favorites.

I won't argue about the smaller details like where did he get the building materials, how fake Charles's beard looked, or why nobody ever came to see him for weeks. You have good points.

But the episode for me always was and always will be a powerfully moving one.

I only recall this ep a little but its honestly unusually farfetched aspects are up there with the Halloween LHOTP ep that ended with some strange, mysterious horseman riding around (in what I think was slow motion) and laughing fiendishly (what exactly was that horseman Laura and her friend saw supposed to be?)

...and Laura's baby son, which she accused Doc Baker of killing. I remember seeing the beginning of that ep last week and mentioning to my mom that males in that family had as bad a mortality rate as wives and fiancees on Bonanza!

Not to mention black people on the original Star Trek.

I never really liked the character of Cassandra at all. She was always crying about something!!! The early episodes will always be the best!
