Default Mash is one show you cannot watch too much

Every time you watch the same ep twice or more(with the exceptiopn of the Cowboy ep) you keep finding new details you did not notice the first time. There is so much story and details in each ep (again save for the cowboy one).

Watching an ep this morning again I just noticed the visiting recruiter to the the 4077th (played by Barry Corbin) signs Rizzo up again for service. I did not catch that last time I saw it!

Tell me about it. I've must have watched every episode about a zillion times. And they never get old, do they?!
Not even the "cowboy" one. At least for me.
What don't you like about it?

that's true; sometimes. I had seen the pilot a few times before I noticed the fact that Henrys office doesn't have anything on the walls. And also, Trapper has a red bathrobe.
And, I'd seen the episode FOR WANT OF A BOOT a few times before I'd noticed in the credits that A.A. wrote it.

The Cowboy ep had the least amount of multi-story details in it. You could watch that one just once and remember about all of it.

The Cowboy ep told the future for Maclean Stevenson. The hateful looking jeep coming through the tent of Henry's and Henry sits up in his bed in fear. Maclean Stevenson did just that with all the nightmares of Conrad Bain of Diff'Rent Strokes (formerly of horror soap Dark Shadows) he later had in real life!

Same here. I liked that episode a lot when it first aired, but now I have to skip it whenever it comes on. It's just too creepy.

I'm also not crazy about the second half of the two-part episode where Margaret and Hawkeye get stranded in that abandoned hut overnight, but that's mainly because Margaret's personality was so inconsistent with who she was the rest of the time. It just didn't ring true for me.

That was one of the most sad and scary episodes along with the one when Henry got killed going home.

This morning on KFOX here in El paso I watched the ep where they all throw Potter a surprise party. It had many details I did not recall from the two times I'd previously seen it. Much story elements indeed!

This morning on KFOX here in El Paso I saw the ep (where the three UN guys came) for the tenth time. I remembered the plot of Potter's yoga, Margaret's new boyfriend, and the subplot of Charles and the classy European guy trading cultural background/wine stories (God the writers must've worked overtime on that subplot about the vineyards and while I wondered if some of that vineyard info was the invention of the writers it just proves my point that Charles worked well due to the writers as much or more than Stiers's own performance). The one bit I did not recall at all was BJ's serious subplot tending to a patient with a bad leg. It was like watching the ep for the first time again.

This morning on Kfox here in El Paso I saw the ep where Henry relocates to Tokoyo for a while and Frank takes over as head of the 4077th. This ep had Frank trying to get Nurse Ginger brought up on charges. I didn't recall this at all in any of the more than half dozen times I previously saw this ep.

When I saw the pilot again yesterday on Kfox I recalled almost all of the details of that ep.

I agree that M*A*S*H can be watched over and over...its my all-time fave sitcom , with the exceptions on theses eps :

-Hawkeye has a jeep accident and spends 30 mins talking jibberish to a Korean family who thinks hes insane
-Margaret and Hawkeye have a short affair in an abandonned hut....This totally changed their relationship, & took away all the sexual tension between them for the rest of the series.
-Hawkeye meets the "Countess".....Alda wrote this ep specifically for the actress playing the part of the "Countess"....its a "love story" that feels as contrived as it obviously WAS
-"Private Rich"- Rich is sent to the 4077th as a patient, and we see everything from his point of view, thx to a camera on the stretcher...a good idea, but, once youve seen it once, it loses it's novelty
-The Bowling ep from the last season.....this short season was partly made up from eps/scripts that were rejected in previous years, I've NO doubt this was one of them; simply the very worst ep of M*A*S*H EVER made!
"Henry Goes Home"- A pretty good ep, but, I found myself only being able to watch it maybe every 2nd or third time it played, that ending, though brilliant, was just too sad.
