Question The soundtrack to your life story??

If you had a movie being made about yourself that told your life story, and you were able to pick a few songs that you wanted in the movie, what would they be, and why would they be in it?? I started writing a screenplay many years ago, and I thought alot about each scene, and what songs would best fit certain scenes, and help to tell my story, and I came up with a pretty long list, which I've since narrowed down to a few. I have them written down somewhere, and will share them in a bit. In the meantime, I'm curious to know, what songs would best help to tell your guys' life story??

Good to see you Brad. Seems like I haven't seen you forever sweetie!

This is a good thread. I have a few songs already in my head, but going to really think this through and come up with a good list. This thread really makes you think!

It's great to see you too Irene, I've missed you!! I've just had so much going on lately, and so I've been doing alot of posting and running, and haven't been socializing around here as much as I would like. You'll be getting a long PM from me real soon though, I promise!! We've got alot of catching up to do!!

I'm glad you like this thread idea. I seem to have long spells where I have very little original stuff to post, and then all of a sudden I'll have a couple original ideas here and there. They seem to be few and far between lately, but hopefully some good ideas will start flowing in my brain soon.

Each of these songs have great meaning to me, and would do a great job in helping to tell certain parts of my life story so far, so they would definitely be in my movie.

Ordinary Day - Vanessa Carlton

Hold Me Jesus - Rich Mullins

Unwell - Matchbox 20

Ordinary Day -

Just a day,
Just an ordinary day.
Just tryin to get by.
Just a boy,
Just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky.
And as he asked if i would come along
I started to realize-
That everyday you find
Just what he's looking for,
Like a shooting star he shines.

He said take my hand,
Live while you can
Don't you see your dreams right in the palm of your hand?

And as he spoke, he spoke ordinary words
Although they did not feel
For I felt what I had not felt before
You'd swear those words could heal.
And as I looked up into those eyes
His vision borrows mine.
And to know he's no stranger,
For I feel I've held him for all of time.

And he said take my hand,
Live while you can
Don't you see your dreams right in the palm of your hand
in the pal of your hand.

Please come with me,
See what I see.
Touch the stars for time will not flee.
Time will not flee.
And you must be

Just a dream, just an ordinary dream.
As I wake in bed
And the boy, that boy, that ordinary boy.
Or was it all in my head?
Did he asked if I would come along
It all seemed so real.
But as i looked to the door,
I saw that boy standing there with a deal.

And he said he my take my hand,
Live while you can,
Don't you see your dreams right in the palm of your hand
right in the palm of your hand,
right in the palm of your hand.

Just a day, just an ordinary day
Jus tryin to get by.

Just a boy,
Just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky.

Unwell -

All day
Staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night
Hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on
I'm feeling like I'm headed for a
Breakdown
I don't know why
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Me
Talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
I know
I know they've all been talking 'bout me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong
With me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow
I've lost my mind
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
I been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Hey, how I used to be
How I used to be, yeah
Well I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be

Hold Me Jesus -

Well, sometimes my life just don't make sense at all
When the mountains look so big
And my faith just seems so small

So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

And I wake up in the night and feel the dark
It's so hot inside my soul
I swear there must be blisters on my heart

So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

Surrender don't come natural to me
I'd rather fight You for something I don't really want
Than to take what You give that I need
And I've beat my head against so many walls
Now I'm falling down, I'm falling on my knees

And this Salvation Army band is playing this hymn
And Your grace rings out so deep
It makes my resistance seem so thin

I'm singing hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

Hey Brad,

Your songs are very deep i would go to see your movie. By the way great idea. I'll have to think about what my songs would be for my movie but i know it will be a sad one.

A LOVE UNTIL THE END OF TIME

I love you with a heart that loves no one but you
A love I never tought I would find
A love that comes just once and never comes again
A love until the end of time
I give you all the love there I have in me to give
If I could only make you mine
I loved you with a love I never known before
A love until the end of time
I can't believe that you are not a dream
You are everything I wanted you to be
I always knew that someday I would find
A love like ours until the end of time
I love you with a heart that knows no other love
A love I can't believe it's mine
Now that I found you I will never let you go
From now until the end of time

Place in this World

The wind is moving
But I am standing still
A life of pages
Waiting to be filled
A heart that's hopeful
A heart that's full of dreams
But this becoming
Is harder than it seems
Feels like I'm

Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need Your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world

If there are millions
Down on their knees
Among the many
Can you still hear me
Hear me asking
Where do I belong
Is there a vision
That I can call my own
Show me I'm

Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need Your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world

In my life

There are places I remember
all my life, though some have changed.
Some forever, not for better.
And some have gone, and some remain.

All these places have their moments
with lovers and friends I still can't recall.
Some are dead and some are living.
In my life I love them all.

But of all these friends and lovers,
there is no one compares with you.
And these memories lose their meaning
when I think of love as something new.

Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
for people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them.
In my life I love you more.

Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
for people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think of them.
But in my life I loved you more.
I love you more.
I love you more.
