Ive always wondered...
Sometimes at the end of some Wanted or Lost Loves segments, Mr. Stack says that the case has been solved with the help of the viewers of the show. Hows that? it means that the segment has been previously broadcasted? Thanks for your wisdom in this one. |

That leads me to another question: A lot of cases have updates, some have two. It can be irritating because you might have to watch as many as three episodes that are scattered about in order to learn the whole story on one case. I understand that grouping updates with original segments butchers the original episodes, but why wouldn't Lifetime do it anyway for continuity purposes? |

Well I do know a handful of segments where they say that someone saw a preview for an upcoming UM and called the telecenter and were located even before it aired. Maybe at times UM just hasn't had enough time to film the update. I have the 3rd anniversary UM special and there is a pretty cool scene where they show RS in a room and then pan to show the entire room and its filled with Lost Loves that UM has reunited. I'll probably put it on volume 10 as well since I think its something you guys would like seeing.

^ There is a lot of unique footage there that really expands the "updates" on the cases. The update on John Henry Mooney is around five minutes long compared to the little thirty second blip we get at the end of the Lifetime rebroadcasts. There is a long segment (that has been broadcasted on Lifetime) about the government stealing Babe Noss' treasure from Victoria Peak.
There is an interview with Frances "Pat" Mealbach where she updates the status of her case. They also reveal this was the first case ever shot for UM. There are just a lot of updates and things that really bring the viewer up to speed with the major developments in the show over the first three years. |

In regards to the John Mooney update, it mentions how a few business partners of Mooney's were the ones that turned him in. Another interesting twist that I don't know if many of you guys are aware of was one of Mooney's co-workers interviewed in the segment was Lavar Bates. His daughter (whom Lavar didn't even know existed) happened to see him on the show as she had been searching for him. She contacted the telecenter and they facilitated a reunion so probably the only UM case where a wanted case turned into a lost loves reunion.
