Default Countdown to Spidey 3: Spider-Man 3 Already Sold Out in Over 100 Movie Theaters

As of 10:00am on Thursday morning, more than one hundred midnight shows for Spider-Man 3 have already SOLD OUT, according to the popular online movie ticket website Fandango.com. On top of that, many theaters (including IMAX screens) have decided to add 3:00am screenings to appease fans that need their Spidy fix. As of this morning, Spider-Man 3 has accounted for 95% of Fandango’s weekly ticket sales.

The Users of BoxOfficeMojo are predicting that the film will make #133.2 million in it’s first weekend. That number is only a few million shy of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’s record of $135.6 million.

Meanwhile, BoxOfficeGuru is predicting that the film will make “into the friendly neighborhood of $140M over the Friday-to-Sunday span this weekend.”

I saw it at midnight. I was pretty excited for it. I left the theater VERY disappointed.

I'm really sorta sad that this movie isn't as good as the second one and it's going to make so much more money in opening weekend than it.

The first half of the film is fantastic. It's everything it should be. But soon, it gets cluttered. Every single new character who started with great development is underwritten. Once Peter starts getting taken over by the black suit, seriously weird stuff starts happening. It just gets really odd. There are FIVE, musical sequences through the film. I kid you not. I wouldn't even believe it for myself if I hadn't even seen it.

After this one scene in particular with Peter dancing, the last half hour is a mess. The villians don't pose the threat that Doc Ock had. They're big and epic, but the fight scenes are too crowded and chaotic. I would've rather have the focus on one specific thing. There is an intercutting between news stations and the battle which is awkward. The movie is good, but for every good thing, there is one thing that is bad. It definately was disappointing.

I saw the midnight showing myself and I have to agree with you. It's still a good movie, but not as good as the second, and I'm still undecided if it's better than the first one. It was too busy. They had too many stories to tell that it really should have been two movies. Part three should have focused on Sandman (Church was great in the part) and then if they did a part four it would have been all about Venom.

Still some parts of the movie were laugh-out-loud funny and others were very action packed. And others were very boring. I think I was just expecting better. With that said, it's still a good movie.

I'll wait to see it next week. I hate fighting the crowds.

It opened with 59 million on Friday. 10 million alone for midnight screenings.

They're figuring that Spiderman 3 will probably take in close to 150 million by the end of today.

That's a new record.

I went in with low expectations after hearing so many people rip into the movie.

Although I agree the musical numbers although brief, did suck and Peter's attempt at dancing. I thought overall it was a decent comic book movie. I think they could have eliminated one of the characters (Venom or Sandman) and it may have been less cramped at the end.

Bruce Cambell was hilarious in his cameo and JJ Jameson was great again.

I would give it a solid 8
