Pilot theme - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just heard the theme music from the pilot movie for the first time. There's this weird sounding part for the first 20 seconds or so, before it gets to the regular part of the song. Does anyone know what happens visually on the show during it?

The "pilot" must have been a TV-movie, because I just saw it (parts one and two) on WGN yesterday. The scenes they show during the opening are some of the same ones they have shown in all the syndicated series---only Ben still had a little dark hair.

The pilot film,"Diary of a Perfect Murder",a very good made for TV mystery was an NBC 1986 made for TV movie (which I have seen on when it aired on NBC,again in 1994 on TBS,and several other times,on Hallmark (with the opening by Andy Griffith),as well as WGN america.
