Brandon Cruz would be a better one to answer this question but I'll make an educated guess. It was way over 20 years since COEF bit the dust when Bixby passed on. He probably long since stopped seeing the actress who played Livingston as she became a recluse. As for James Komack while he and Bixby were supposed to be close friends at the time COEF I did not read about them being such good friends at the time of Bixby's real son's death in 1981 so the two men were probably much less of friends if still at all by Bixby's own death in 1993. And ditto for Bixby's other COEF cohort Kristina Holland.So I bet they all only heard of Bixby's demise on tv not having had Bixby's family call them abou it.
