I regret to report that Henry Jefferson, Jr., father of murder victim Veronica "Tina" Jefferson, died this past Friday (April 27). The article I came across doesn't mention the cause of his death, or how old he was. However, at the time of his death, he had been married to his wife Velda for 44 years.
His daughter Veronica was murdered in May 1988, and the case was the focus of an UM segment that originally aired in November 1989. Although none of Veronica's family members appeared in the 1989 segment, Henry appeared in the 2001 segment. UM re-introduced the case in 2001, when it aired a first-run segment about the 1988 murders of Rachael Raver and her boyfriend Warren Fulton, because DNA revealed that all three people were murdered by the same person. In 2005 man named Alfredo Prieto was linked to the murders, and is scheduled to go on trial for the killings later this month. At the time he was charged in the cases, he was on California's death row, condemned for an unrelated murder. Here's the article: http://kswo.com/Global/story.asp?S=6455469 Rest in peace, Mr. Jefferson.

^ He seemed like a nice enough guy - I'm glad he kinda got his "wish" granted and that was to be able to have his daughter's killer identified before he passed on. I put "wish" in quotations because I'm sure in the best circumstances he would've never had to have wished that in the first place because Veronica would still be here.
Lets hope Alfredo Prieto gets the book thrown at him. |

RIP Mr. Jefferson, you and your daughter are together now and Mr. Prieto will get what he deserves, whether or not it is the DP remains to be seen but since he murdered three people he most likely will get the DP.
