In "Mel's Cup", Alice and Flo were stupid enough to take something from the diner without asking Mel first. Meanwhile, it was Vera who did a little detective work to find out who took the cup. LOL Strange episode!

This was the beginning of the SMART Vera. She was no longer that much of a dingy.

Excellent Point!!!

I did notice that she did get a little more attractive. Larry was actually hitting on her too in the beginning of the episode. Maybe more make up?

Yep. Her eyes before were not made up. No make-up on them before, which made her eyes have that blank stare (or scary look to them like you said). Now, the make-up really brings out her eyes and the color. She is definitely "looking good" (like in the words of Freddie Prinze)

Plus, her hair wasn't in that CRAZY style that it usually is in.

And will continue. I know when I watch the first season of Alice, I can't wait til they get to this point of the show where Vera is made up better and getting smarter. Watching her in the first season it is so hard because I know she doesn't look that bad and eventually the character becomes less of a dingbat.
