How many times was the opening fishing hole scene filmed as Opie grew up?

I am curious about that too. There was another previous thread that I can't find now, that mentioned the openings also. The poster questioned the fact that when Opie threw the rock, we saw it splash. I could remember the splash when I watched as a kid. I have been watching every episode I can to find that doggone splash, but no luck. Most of the episodes cut before the splash.

Well, a couple of nights ago I was watching the marathon and I think it was season one (with Ellie), and lo and behold! There was the splash, and Opie and Andy even took a few steps after it. Now I know I'm not imagining it! Of course, last night I looked again and no splash!

Does anyone out there know about the openings and the differences between them? I'm not sure if there are cuts being made in syndication or if the openings were filmed that way.

I know that origanally; after he threw the rock and it landed in the lake, the announcer said "BROUGHT TO YOU BY" and the General Foods logo or the Post cereals logo or a General Foods product or a box of Post cereal would appear.
As for how many times it was filmed; I'd say 2 or 3.

One of the best opening sequences of a TV show - straight-forward, simple and charming. Just like the show itself.

Hey! I forgot about that! I can recall it now, sitting in front of our family's 13-inch black and white TV set with rabbit ears, that sat on a wobbly, painted, metal TV tray. My brothers and I fought over who got to turn the channel dial!
