Talking Still Laughing!

One would think after 50 years a show might get stale. Lucy's antics are remarkable, and Fred's quips are too numerous to recount, but some of the lines I still laugh out loud with are:

Ragtime Band:
Lucy: "I have Fred Mertz on the violin. Does he still have his fiddle?"
Ethel: "Yeah, but the last time he played, it was three chins ago."

The Kleptomaniac:
Ethel: "Did you get any of 'em?"
Lucy: "Yeah, I got two. A flatfoot and a private eye. I got the eye in the foot and the foot in the eye."

The Seance:
Fred: "Introducing Raya, the Medium. Well, done, Medium Raya!"

Deep Sea Fishing:
After Ricky falls overboard, Ethel: "Are you wet?" (Check out Ethel's expression)

Lucy Hates to Leave:
Fred passes the fishbowl going through the maze, Fred: "Hello, Moby."

And of course, Fred and Ethel had so many great one-liners and cut-downs. I can imagine Madelyn, the three Bobs and Jess in tears coming up with this stuff!

Oh boy.

My favorite lines:

"Fred, what do you know about rice?"
"Well, I had it thrown at me at one of the darkest days of my life!"

i have to many favorite lines to mention!

This one is of Lucy & Ethel looking at their passport pictures.

Lucy - "I look like Frankenstein."

Ethel - "Well shake hands with your bride."

I forgot about that line. It definitely belongs in the top ten.

My favorite part of that episode is the way Ethel calls Tilly like she's calling on a 2 way radio

"Ethel to Tilly, Ethel to Tilly, come in Tilly, over."

There's probably something in most episodes that still makes me laugh.

This is from an episode where Fred & Ethel were fighting.

Ethel looking at Fred - "Lucy, is that my date?" "He's not a dream, he's a nightmare."

Fred looking at Ethel - "Is that your idea of a cute young chick? You'll never shop for my poultry"

Good one.
The California episode:
[When Ethel doesn't return to California hotel suite]
Fred Mertz: Let's just hope for the best.
Lucy Ricardo: Don't worry, Fred, Ethel'll come back.
Fred Mertz: I said let's hope for the BEST.

One of my favorite episodes was on today, "Lucy and the Loving Cup."

There is yet another great line from Fred when Lucy buys a fuzzy new hat.
Lucy comes in with the new hat on her head to show Ricky, Fred and Ethel:

Lucy: Open your eyes everybody.

Fred: Close your eyes everybody!

LUCY: If you found out Fred was seeing another woman you would be singing a different tune!

ETHEL: Yeah, Happy Days are Hear Again!

I love Ethel's tone of voice and facial expression when she says that!

On the Off To Florida episode, the car they're riding gets a flat tire.

Ethel - "Who's gonna change the tire?"

Mrs. Grundy - "Well, after all I've been doing all the driving. I'm sure you two
wouldn't mind changing a tire, you'll find everything you need in
the trunk."

Ethel - "I hope we find a mechanic back there."

I liked Lucy Does a TV Commercial. Lucy shows Ricky her version of the Lucy Ricardo Show. She's in the tv and Ricky makes the TV short out, sparks and smoke are everywhere. She comes out of the tv and says.

Lucy To Ricky: What are you crazy or something, what are you trying to to do barbeque me!
