Default Kelly's Kids

This was about the only episode of the Brady Bunch where Mike & Carol's marriage was not a passing joke. Because 1) Ken said that the Brady kids were his and Kelly's inspiration to adopt Matt. And 2) When Ken & Kathy were talking about adopting both Dwayne and Steve, Ken said Carol adopted 3 boys and Mike adopted 3 girls. So, their marriage was not joked about at all. What do you guys think? Do you think it's true?

I never thought the show made a joke at the expense of Mike and Carols marriage. Most of the comedy in the show could have applied to any show based around a family. The difference here is that it is a big blended family. The jokes were not about that though, well not IMO.

Kelly Kid's was a potential spinoff that never got off.

As for Mike and Carol's marriage the first season there were references but not as emphasized about being a blended family. After the first season it was like one family together. The only thing that bothered me about that was immediately the girls was calling Mike dad and the boys were calling Carol mom.

Eight is Enough played the stepparent and stepchild relationship and the bonding process very realistic and seriously. Those early episodes when Abby first came along were powerful and moving. Between Carol and Abby I would choose Abby over Carol.
