I'm 19 and when I was little all I remember was the theme song for the jeffersons i never watched it because I was still watching cartoons, I also remember an episode of All That back in the 90s where Sherman Hemsley made an appearence i didn't know who he was back then and why the audience was cheering for him, and then I saw a biography on him last year when Franklin Cover was still alive and they were talking about it. So I decided to watch the marathon on Tv Land to see what the Jeffersons was like it was on in september before school saturday to labor day and i the first episode i saw was Lionel the playboy and i liked it was funny. I never knew how prejudice George was, and when George made the comment "Jenny with the light white dad" I didn't know what he mean't until I saw the next episode, and that's when i started to like it and bought all six dvds along with all in the family

the first episode i saw was, i think titled, Apt 8b
that was the episode in the later seasons when louise thought george was having an affair with this woman who lives on the 8th floor......it was one big misunderstanding....especially with the help of nosey ralph...they later found out that when she was referring to george...she wasn't talking about george jefferson, she was talking about her man, george nylund....lol anyways ever since that day in august 1998, i've been a fanatic of the show. |

I remember watching the premiere episode on the night it first aired. I had been a viewer of All in the Family for a couple of years, so I was very familiar with the family (Lionel and Louise especially).
It was one of the first times I had the opportunity to see an important new sitcom right from its beginning (I was a little to young to remember the debuts of other 70s sitcoms).
