Roseanne. It was more influential it showed the hardships a family goes through. It's one of the few realistic sitcoms. Although I also like home improvement.

Home Improvement, hands down. Only the first few seasons, though. I got bored when they all started hanging out at that hardware store and more stories were focused on the growing boys. I watched to see the Tim/Jill and Tim/Al banters, Wilson's sage advice, and of course to see what ridiculous predictament Tim would find himself in that week.

Roseanne, though I watched Home Improvement when it originally aired. Through reruns Roseanne is easier to watch, imo HI wasn't as good when the kids grew up it did get boring.

Roseanne, but I've only watched it maybe 10 times, with Home Improvement, I've only watched it twice, just didn't get into it.

Home Improvement. Tim Allen never butchered the National Anthem!

Roseanne. I'm not much of a Home Improvement fan, I've seen very little of the show.

Roseanne.

Home Improvement was the same thing over and over. That weird sound Tim made was ridiculous for a grown man. When the boys got older the show didn't work and Patricia Richardson was wasted talent. No other character got a chance to develop.

Plus, how could a guy have a hit show about home repairs and be a complete failure at home? Dan Conner's struggles were more realistic and he dressed and acted like he really did some work.

The things I did like about Home Improvement, however, was the whole Wilson concept (new ways to conceal his face), and the fact that Tim had all brothers and Jill had all sisters. They could have done more with that.

Home improvement, to me that was a lot funnier. The only thing that got a bit annoying to me after a while were the Wilson parts. And I thought it was too bad when Randy left the show, since he was my fave of the kids.
