Angry Very disappointed in Rue

I went to the exclusive Barracuda Night Club in Chelsea (Manhattan) NYC last night to see the one and only Rue McClanahan sign her new autobiography. Well, she only stayed for a half hour and didn't even sign all of the copies that were purchased! She just announced that she had to go and asked the girls to part the crowd as if she were Moses parting the Red Sea. ...And forget about getting a personalized autograph! She signed all the books with just her signature..even Blanche inscribed her high school yearbooks with more personalization (you MUST remember what she wrote in each one!). Let me know what anyone else thought......(Bea Arthur would NEVER have done such a mediocre appearance)....

That's a shame...it reminds me a lot of Melissa Gilbert at the 2005 Tombstone Western Film Festival. About 10 other cast members of Little House were also on hand and were so warm and approachable, except MG. While the other cast members did multiple autograph sessions, she only did one. She refused to personalize her autographs, too. That left a sour taste in many people's mouths. Even more amazing is the fact that her own husband, Bruce Boxleitner, was one of the most generous and approachable stars at the event!! I guess opposites do attract.

To get back to Rue, I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience. The good thing is, there are plenty of other celebrities who are very warm and gracious, not to mention grateful for their fans!!

What a disappointment. Sorry to hear about your experience. I never thought Rue'd be like that.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Rue. Do keep in mind that this event was probably one of many scheduled for that day...

Well you never know, she might have had something else to do that night, that probably wasn't the only stop she had to make. Sometimes Celebrity agents or "their people" keep them on a tight schedule so that they can make all of their appearances.

Default Keep in mind

Rue Is getting old! On the view the other day she had a hard time getting up on the small platform without help. Even celebs get old, and she may have not been feeling so well. You cant expect someone her age to be "Exuberant". Heck Bea Arthur is declining. She has a perferated ear drum. I am just saying give her a break she is an old person now.

Just don't let one bad experience ruin your opinion of Rue, she is human and cannot be 100% fan friendly at all times.

I agree. Rue is very busy. I still think she is a very Nice person. She may have been very tired, or had another book signing.

Everyone please don't be so hard on Rue! I'm pretty sure she is a great person but you have to understand that she is human like someone mentioned. We all have our bad days and maybe she wasn't feeling to great or wasn't in a good mood to stay.
